[LA Times title and SUBTITLE on paper's website front page: Chaos follows LAX shooting - Anti-government sentiment may be motive for attack
__________________________________________________
A composed, solitary gunman shot his way into Los Angeles International Airport on Friday morning, killing a transit security screener and injuring at least one more before being wounded by police and taken into custody. The incident was over in less than 10 minutes but caused chaos at the world's sixth-busiest airport and disrupted thousands of flights across the nation.
The suspected gunman was identified as Paul Anthony Ciancia, 23, a New Jersey native who lives in Los Angeles.
Authorities declined to discuss the gunman's motivation publicly. But a law enforcement official told The Times that a note was found on the gunman expressing "disappointment in the government" and noting that he had no interest in hurting "innocent people." Ciancia also sent a sibling a text message last week suggesting that he was prepared to die, officials said.
It appears the gunman targeted Transportation Security Administration agents, who are not armed. Authorities said he approached several people cowering in the airport terminal, pointed his gun at them, asked if they "were TSA" and then moved on without pulling the trigger if the answer was no. A witness said the gunman cursed the TSA repeatedly as he moved through the terminal."....

Wonder if he was on psych drugs.
Can't imagine him at a Tea Party rally.
The other thing that made me think he was an Occupy type was that he used the word “pigs” in his rants. Nobody has used that term for the cops since the 1970s - except OWS and its anarchist brethren. The group I saw in New York had some people yelling this at unfortunate NYPD officers who had drawn the miserable duty of watching them for the day, and a couple of the signs also bore messages about “the pigs.”
All reports in the first 3-5 days will likely be wrong. As w Sandy Hook.
I’m surprised they are not saying this guy is Ted Cruz’s brother, or the third Koch brother.
I also saw a story that he had tried to get a job with TSA (don’t know if that’s true). For decades we’ve dealt with random mayhem & violence from unassimilated minorities that had nothing to lose; this country had better brace itself for the same threat from a much larger white male population that has legal obstacles in place to bar them from higher education, jobs, and promotions...
Thanks! I think it’s still pretty possible that he was an anarchist, though, at least in his sentiments. The terminology he used is exactly what they use, except for the “patriot” part. And they hate the government much more than any libertarian (generally lumped in with conservatives, although they usually aren’t).
He doesn’t seem to have had any connections with anyone, actually, and an earlier interview with a fellow classmate from high school said that as far as he could see, Ciancia went through the entire four years without saying a word to anybody. He’s definitely got mental problems, and I guess in his disturbed mind, he was attributing his internal problems to a political motive.
That said, Obama has created such an atmosphere of tension and fear that it is having a negative impact on everybody, and the mentally ill are very sensitive to their emotional environment and unrestrained in their reaction to it. Of course, if his self-defined motive was leftist/ anarchist, as it was in the case of the crazy Giffords shooter (who felt she and the others weren’t leftist enough), we’ll never hear about it.
I think the view of “anti-governemnt” is changing, especially now with NSA and Obamacare. Rather than conservatives go on the defensive, we need to put the onus on them. Anti-government is not an extremist view, but now mainstream, thanks to Obozo. It’s his fault, not the extremist.
For what it’s worth, looking at the voter roll, his father in NJ is a registered Democrat and his other relative in Pennsville (probably brother) is Unaffiliated.
Whenever there’s a killer the first thing the press jumps to is that they’ve finally got a conservative. The more them that goes by the less likely that’s true... It’s the ‘gold standard’ for the press and they want it soooooooo bad... Same for leftists who would do anything to be able to say ‘I told you so’... All the killers so far have been dems or Muslims but one of these days it’ll be one of ours... and when it is you’ll see the circus to end all circuses.
“Go! Take your luggage with you!”
Funny video there, thanks.
Whose surprised??? anybody....anybody at all.....
After all, Paul CIAnCIA may have absolutely no internet footprint whatsoever, but that does not mean that he was a created identity.
Paul CIAnCIA may have been 23, and 23 year olds may participate in social media at nearly a 100% level, but just because this man has ZERO internet footprint -- no high-school mentions, no facebook, no myspace, no google+, no sporting mentions, no internet commenting on articles on the news articles of the day, even though he was so involved that he was willing to die to make a point -- this does NOT mean that the goverment has just flexed its Identity Management capabilities.
No no no.
Perish the thought.
I have the same sense of the use of that term, but we now have FReepers defending the use of the term as well:

So I don’t know. Are we simply infested with trolls who just talk that way because they’re lefties and that’s how they talk, or are we simply taking up the term on our own?
We’ve had a “red scare”. Now get ready for a red, white and blue scare.
Obama and Co. are poisoning civil discourse.
TSA and Homeland troops aren't real police officers. They lack most legal training beyond that given to security guards. That's a risk. The bar for being a modern police officer is high - as it should be... and even higher for an FBI agents. That's good. But image of professionalism is being watered down in the public's eyes by people in uniform who aren't professionals... or professionally trained.
Is it dangerous when people who really aren't really in law enforcement go around acting like they are? I think so. Police departments do what they can to get rid of bad apples... and screen to keep out people with authority issues. Is that happening with the 'look-a-likes'?
The public - people who don't know the difference between a police chief and a paid bank security guard - are painting all with a broad brush. Liberals are encouraging the problem... for reasons I don't quite understand. Seems they want to weaken the authority of real police officers while adding to the authority of security guard types. But again, for what purpose? And the public - and freepers - are responding to the blurring. Just seems nutty. (in short, I'm clueless on this one...)
QUESTION: Does the alleged NWO note really stand for New World Order? Or for Negroes With Obama?
I was thinking the same thing.
Obama’s approval numbers are down; it was time for a distraction. Obama had warned us that we may be at a place where mass shootings will happen every month or two. As long as he gets negative poll numbers every month or two, this stuff will just have to keep happening...
OWS or Muslim. Those people use that terminology.
Fair enough. I hate them too.
