DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- A single mother wrote to ABC11 to share a story of what happened to her family at a Pizza Hut in Durham.
The Raleigh woman said the past few years have been very trying for her family. She is going through a messy divorce, has had to move several times, and had to take a year off from attending college. She said recently she found out that her 4-year-old daughter has bullying tendencies, and her 6-year-old son is living with Asperger's and ADHD.
Every Friday night, the woman takes her family on a dinner tour where they eat at a different restaurant each week. On Friday, the family went straight from daycare and after school to the Pizza Hut off Sherron Road.
It was around 6 p.m., and her son's medication had long worn off. She was left with parenting lessons she had learned from classes and reading.
She said after they were seated, she saw a young man seated alone in a nearby booth. As she would normally do, the mother apologized for how loud the children were going to be and asked him to forgive them.
He told her not to worry because he had three children of his own and could relate.

I was eight years old before my parents first took me to a restaurant. Was old enough at that point to sit still and behave properly & with good manners. And yes, Mr. Belt and Mr. Bar of Soap were used in my parents’ household when needed.
I already dislike you and I just met you.
I could count on my hands and feet how many times we went out to eat during my entire childhood and have digits left over.
It used to be that well-behaved children was the norm in restaurants

that was not only asinine, but cruel.....pathetic!
Only on the internet does a nice, heartwarming story turn into a scold fest on child rearing and tattoos.
Come for the puppies and unicorns, stay for the scolding.
I have.
Not every child who gets bullied is gay and not every bully gives a damn if their victims are gay. They just like to victimize. There's no excuse for it. None.
Oh my, nicely done.
Yep, and back when they had a decent product. Can you imagine all the frozen crap now with the dozen crusts and boxes and stuff?
I hated it when they shifted to those giant hair dryer ovens. Ruined the thin crust.
Would you by any chance be Meagan McCain?
That’s funny! My first thought too. Some people don’t understand the culture war that we’re in and the fact that language is a battle within that war.
LOL!
Not all bullying are caused by the victims being gay or perceived to be gay. By automatically associating bully and gays, you play down other issues related to bullying and overplay the association between being gay and being bullied.
Yes it was and that was why I commented to him......thanks for your support.
Maybe it's a syndrome. AAD...Acute Asshole Disorder.
Well my parents never took me out to dinner until I was 17. ...and then it was a McDonald’s on my birthday...and I wasn’t allowed to eat or speak.
