There was only one gunman? I thought there were two.
In that case, it probably was the famous “disgruntled employee,” because he asked people if they were TSA employees before he shot them. I think, from what I’ve read, that the only person actually killed was a TSA employee, so he may have hit the others by accident.
Not all TSA employees are armed; some of them are nice, but some of them are such dim bulbs worried about when they get their lunch hours that you miss your flight while they argue about it.
This happened to me last week coming back from an international flight in Atlanta, where all European flights arrive at the same time so there are huge numbers of people there. They were literally assigning their lunch times and wouldn’t let me go ahead even though my flight had already begun boarding and there were some 500 people in line. And while I sure wouldn’t go postal on them, I can see that there’s a similar management problem there and this may be the reason that some TSA agents might go postal at some point.

This picture looks like the rifle was a MIni14.
I thought that at first, but now it looks too small for that. It looks more like a pellet rifle or .22 or perhaps a .30 cal carbine they're pretty small.

From the angle I can see the gas block on the front and the Mag has a bend to it.
Doesn't seem to be a small Caliber from the pixelated angle,
and no rails on the grip. Can't see any sights on it either, or carry handle.
Looks like one of those .22's at Cheaper than Dirt with a rounded grip, made to look like an AR.

The hysteria promulgated by the media is getting really old. Whomever is responsible for this induced mayhem seems to be an abject failure regarding a body count, however, the effect is a magnificent success in regards to the public panic and the overall cost associated with it, and with regard to any further erosion of our liberties.
I recently traveled to Los Angeles, arriving via the Metra, into Union Station. There are zero hands-on physical security inspections. Should a bad actor decide to act upon such vulnerabilities, dozens, if not hundreds of innocents could be harmed. Imagine boarding a train and once out of station, what could happen if an evil doer started whacking UNARMED people in the last car from front to rear? The confined space would aid the diabolical in their goals. I'm actually quite disturbed by my own dark "what if" hypothesize. Note to self: carry concealed, whether legally permitted or not!

Locking down the entire city of LA because one TSA agent going postal at the airport is insane and ridiculous.
