This picture looks like the rifle was a MIni14.
I thought that at first, but now it looks too small for that. It looks more like a pellet rifle or .22 or perhaps a .30 cal carbine they're pretty small.

Mini-14 is chambered in .223 or whatever the near equivalent metric is. “Knock off” of the M-14, which is .308, I think.

Looks like an AR variant, with the mag removed and nearby. There appears to be an optic on the top rail. Look at the end of the foregrip ... there’s a gas block.
