Darrell Issa aims to boost economic prosperity, fix broken immigration system

Congressman Darrell Issa sees a way to boost economic prosperity in the San Diego region which he calls home and also, finally, dealing with a broken immigration system.

While many elected leaders to the House of Representatives question the offer of citizenship to people who have broken U.S. immigration laws, Issa appears to take a more reasoned approach to a situation which seems to have been exacerbated by the federal government's lackluster efforts over the years at enforcing or reforming its own laws on the books, as well as previous offers of amnesty.

A story carried by the DallasNews states that Issa is among those in the GOP who have been working on possible legislation for immigration, and it also quotes Issa's Florida colleague Mario Diaz-Balart as stating that the goal is to help the immigrants already here illegally to "get right with the law."

The Republicans have a strategy. It’s just not a strategy that will save our country.

Get rid of the illegals, send them all back, and let the 50 million on the government dole take those positions now occupied by illegals. Oh wait, that’s too simple.

Issa's got to make noises like this because his district is heavily immigrant. It is worth noting that Michael McCaul, TX, chairman of the Homeland Security Cmte, is absolutely opposed to conferencing with the Senate on any immigration bill - “I am not gonna go down the road of conferencing with the Senate [comprehensive immigration reform] bill,” McCaul said on conservative radio host Laura Ingraham’s show Wednesday. “And I told Boehner that he needs to stand up and make that very clear that we are not going to conference with the Senate on this. We’re not going to conference with the Senate, period.".

Even Rubio has come out saying that the House should not produce a bill that can go to conference with his Gang of 8 Senate bill. Now, I don't trust him an inch, but the fact that he's saying this shows which way the wind is blowing.

What an amazing scam is goin' on. The stimulus artificially props up the stock market and keeps interest rates on saving low. It enriches the Federal Reserve and other banker-elitists. The stimulus money keeps coming, the excuse being because the unemployment rate is high. RINOs want to cave on the invasion of the US because it provides a great combination of cheap labor and stimulus money.

So the rich get richer. And the poor get poorer....there aren't enough jobs, wages are deflated, and responsible people can't save with near-0% interest rates on savings.

I read somewhere that of all the members of Congress, Issa is #1 or #2 in wealth increase since being in office.

The immigration system is not broken. It is simply not enforced.

Anyone who thinks a new system will be enforced is an idiot.

The fact is that we have open borders now and we will have open borders after the system is “fixed”.

Get used to it. These illegal aliens aren’t going anywhere and they aren’t going to comply with any new law any more than they complied with the existing law.

That's part of it. We're past the industrial age, and less people are needed to keep things going. A huge percentage of the global population is a crop to be harvested for the concentration of power, money, and acquisition of assets for the elite. Do I really believe the conspiracy theory nonsense I just spouted? Yup.

The only way for a population to rise above it is self-sufficiency. Every thing the government is doing is making the population more dependent.

“Congressman Darrell Issa sees a way to boost economic prosperity in the San Diego region which he calls home and also, finally, dealing with a broken immigration system. “

The answer is to go corporatist and drive down wages of the middle class.

For readers, these three dont sound bad :

Three immigration-related bills from link:

•STEM, HR #459: Allows 55,000 visas per year for foreign students receiving advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
•FALLEN HEROES, HR #458: Grants temporary nonimmigrant status to a surviving, foreign national parent or permanent guardian of a U.S. citizen child born outside of the United States when the deceased parent was an active-duty service member of the U.S. military.
•Criminal Alien Accountability Act, HR #457: Imposes mandatory sentencing for aliens who reenter the United States after having been deported for previous crimes committed in the United States.
