Virginia: Bill Clinton campaigns with McAuliffe in Roanoke's market building
Roanoke Times ^ | Thursday, October 31, 2013 | Duncan Adams

Bill Clinton joined fellow Democrat Terry McAuliffe in downtown Roanoke on Wednesday afternoon to add the former president’s clout as McAuliffe’s campaign to be Virginia’s next governor approaches Tuesday’s election.

Clinton emphasized that the state, the nation and the world need leaders who will embrace cooperation instead of inciting ideology-driven conflict.

He and McAuliffe spoke to a crowd of about 450 people gathered in Charter Hall in the City Market Building. Both men were clearly preaching to the choir. The McAuliffe campaign had handed out about 300 tickets to the event.

Clinton said extremism provokes fanaticism, anger and anxiety.

“If steam is coming out of your ears, the light bulbs will not come on in your brain,” Clinton said.

Clinton’s light bulbs weren’t coming on between his ears but between his legs. :-)

Clinton’s light bulb was his red, bulbous nose.

The Clintons r clearly desperate for this state so it will b easier for Hillary to steal when she runs in 2016.

Clinton emphasized that the state, the nation and the world need leaders who will embrace cooperation instead of inciting ideology-driven conflict.

According to Clinton and McAuliffe ideology-driven conflict includes people with common sense, Christians, people who know that men and women are different, people who believe in personal and fiscal responsibility, people who think that complex laws should be read and digested before blindly passing them, and people who simply seek the truth.

Democrats are good at name calling, character assassination, the blame game, increasing taxes, mindlessly spending your money, and then lying about it!

The Democrats ideology entails hiding the truth about laws, blindly and hurriedly passing complex, unworkable legislation before you find out, like the Affordable Care Act.

Slick waving his magic “wand” for Terry Bull could be the kiss of death for that sleazeball.

Unbelievable how those crooks stick together.

You know, I just maybe suffering from delusional, head-in-the-sand-itis but
reading about what McAwful, his puppet master, Bubba, and the
ex-SecState who killed Americans doesn’t strike me as being productive at this point in the election.
No criticism on the poster and I know it’s not about me here on FR but I guess it’s just an expression of burn out or same old, same old or out and out frustration that anyone would look at McAwfull twice, let alone vote for the a**...
Yes, I’ll have some cheese with my whine.....

Sadly true. I think it mutually assured destruction.

Roanoke, if memory serves, is about 40% black. A long way for two carpet baggers to travel into Virginia, just to get a few more black votes, this late in the game. I smell desperation.

Exactly.

Ken is pulling ahead now and will win by a comfortable margin.

I can’t wait. It will be one big slap in the face to Obama, the Clintons, ObamaCare and the Democratic establishment.

It will be a victory for Christian Conservatives across America and the death of ObamaCare.

The Baraqqi Coalition:

Mike Amos, a former union leader at Yokohama Tire in Salem, said his vote goes to candidates who support organized labor.

“I hope to meet the man, Bill Clinton,” Amos said. “That’s the main reason I’m here.”

Mary Croft said she likes McAuliffe “because he has had the courage to stand out and actually be proud of his ‘F’ rating from the NRA.”

Will Rye, director of Roanoke Equality, said he favors McAuliffe, in part because of his support for equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Virginians.

Or they were there to deliver the cash to the precinct captains.

This is part of the Dems nationwide strategy.

VA will turn blue, and next will be TX and then the South.

No way they had 450 people there, maybe 200. I work downtown and I saw the folks lined up at lunchtime, but they opened the doors at 1 PM and 15 minutes later, everyone was upstairs.

As far as the crowd went, saw mostly Dem precinct captains, green party members, non-profit employees from downtown, college students and some retired folks. Not a big crowd at all for the center of McAuliffe’s power base in SW Virginia considering he brought a former President with him. There were more people waiting in line last Saturday to get into a Halloween party at one of the downtown restaurants.
