So if you are 18, 19, or 20 and live in NYC, you are old enough to be a Marine and fight and die for your Country but not old enough to decide if you want to smoke?????
I do not smoke. No one in my house does. But this is just bullshit.
18 and above are not minors.
just say you're gay.
It looks pretty obvious that Bloomberg is making some big money selling under the table items to New Yorkers.
Old enough to die for the Country, old enough to smoke.
That's exactly what I was getting at in my Post # 1. Yes, that's the kind of BS that's so typical of the leftist mindset!
Somebody let me know when the libs who support this nonsense start decrying the votes they get from these poor, immature 18-20 year olds.
I mean...if they are too young to make a decision about smoking (or drinking, BTW), then they are much too young to cast a vote.
Right?
Meanwhile, I won’t hold my breath waiting for libs to say, “Wait, it’s not right that I accept the votes of infants. I don’t think we should count them.”
Regards,
I loathe tobacoo but I’m not in favor of raising age restrictions to 21.
AFAIK If you’re old enough to VOTE and join the army and die then you should be old enough to gamble and buy legal drugs like booze and tobacco.
I must strongly condemn any government restriction on these E-cigs, which will save people’s lives if they use them instead. They contain nicotine by itself, certainly not “good” for you but hardly a major heath hazard.
Who wants the government to restrict them? Why tobacco lobbyists of course. The government is incredibly hypocritical.
What you're describing is another of the countless examples of duplicity, hypocrisy , and logical inconsistency of the left's political playbook!
“AFAIK If youre old enough to VOTE and join the army and die then you should be old enough to gamble and buy legal drugs like booze and tobacco.”
I agree.
All 5 boroughs ARE all NYC and under Bloomers. One would need to go to Nassau or Westchester counties. Or Jersey or CT for adjacent areas.
There’s a bit of a push for that now, here in Canada. I don’t think it’s gaining much traction.
I wasn’t thinking about NYC specifically — just the type that supports such things, and their ilk. However, if you search on “lower the voting age to 16”, you’ll get plenty of hits — it’s been a “cause” in the U.S. for at least 10 years now.
Thanks for the ping!
