Two Tea Party groups recently declared war on Republicans who voted to end the government shutdown.
The Tea Party Nation and the Tea Party Leadership Fund want to run Tea Party-approved candidates against sitting Republicans as punishment for being "traitors."
One Tea Party favorite, debunked Christian historian David Barton, is rumored to possibly run against Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), notes Warren Throckmorton at Patheos.org.
A "Draft David Barton for US Senate" Facebook page has been set up and currently boasts 1,445 members.
One pro-Barton advocate claims on his blog that "last week a meeting occurred between Tea Party leaders and a representative for Barton. Sources report both sides left the meeting encouraged. Right now, speculation Barton might run is 'legitimate.'"
Not mentioned by any of his supporters is how Barton's most recent "historical" book Jefferson Lies was pulled by its Christian publisher Thomas Nelson in 2012 for historical inaccuracies, noted NPR.
In addition to his dubious book, Barton has tried to justify the genocide of Native Americans, claimed that atheism, evolution and Darwinism are "religions" and rewritten the words of Jesus Christ to oppose the U.S. tax system.

The left, in their anti-Christ spirit, ignore, oppose, and disregard the blatant and obvious Christianity of the founders of this nation. Barton exposes the truth and they attack him accordingly.
I'm impressed with the obvious references to Christian faith in the Jefferson memorial. For me, that is evidence enough:
PANEL 1: We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness...
PANEL 2: Almighty God hath created the mind free. All attempts to influence it by temporal punishments or burthens...are a departure from the plan of the Holy Author of our religion

In Panel 2, Jefferson clearly identifies with the Christian faith and also emphasizes that it was commonly embraced, using the words "OUR religion". In Panel 3, Jefferson recognized Christian doctrine, calling God "just" and acknowledging that "his justice cannot sleep forever."

That is a great point.
And I think that it is precisely what Barton was doing with his book. Showing that about 3/4s of Jefferson is friendly to Christianity....and thus showing that the current model of Jefferson as sort of a proto Richard Dawkins, is in fact, a bold faced lie.

Dwayne Stovall is a rambling moron, Immigration attorney Linda Vega sounds like an open borders RINO to Cornhole’s left from the limited info I’ve found on her.
But the other 3 sound ok and I’d give one of them the nod over this guy who would have zero chance in a runoff with Cornhole.
However with this crop of unknowns I’m not optimistic that Cornhole can be held below 50%, we need a heavy hitter to have a realistic chance at taking him out.
It’s not Joe Barton that’s considering running, it’s some other guy named Barton.
Post and ask him, he answers.

I don’t know if former Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams would be interested in another Senate run after his aborted run in 2011 (he switched to a House race after Dewhurst and Cruz were sucking all the oxygen out of the Senate race, and then switched to a second House race and ended up losing), but he’d make a great Senator, and certainly could run to Cornyn’s right in the primary and send him to a runoff like Cruz did to Dewhurst.

Saying Barton is as kooky as Ted Cruz is a favorable comment about both Barton and Cruz.
The History News Network that is part of the History channel? Now there's a real history source (sarc)! And who do they source? None other than Throckmorton and Coulter, along with another couple of most likely Christian haters that believe in Separation of Church and State.
And Zinn is not second runner up.
And I see he did well in defending himself; but I also see its the same leftists Christian Warren Throckmorton, and his partner Michael Coulter that attack him relentlessly. Both have been known as Christian and/or Conservative by Leftists, but evidence shows otherwise. They even state that they want to critique Barton and religious conservatives in general. Throckmorton has attacked the Religious Right on the grounds that they are wrong on the Separation of Church and State (SOCS). As far as I know, Coulters view on SOCS is ambiguous; but then why would he partner who is vehemently supportive of SOCS? In a lecture Coulter infers he agrees with SOCS in stating the importance to law SOCS is. The link below has Coulters lecture on Windows Media Player and he states the importance of SOCS at around the 35 minute mark.

But lets say they did not have an agenda; what they argue most in their criticism of Barton is the way he interprets the data the first person writings of Jefferson. If this is the case, then it is a matter of reading the original documents ourselves and making up our own minds about the writing. And this is what Barton does best he brings out the original writings! This is what drives the rest of the Left crazy too! We are not to interpret these documents ourselves in their eyes.
And there is another outstanding feature about Throckmorton and Coulters articles - THEY LACK CITATIONS! Anybody reading their article can note this - including you!
Now you have brought out evidence that attacks Barton, I have a question for you; do you have anything that supports Barton, or are you just out to get him as well?
