Final, 6-1 Red Sox: Its all over. The Boston Red Sox are world champions.
David Ortiz had a World Series like few others, hitting .688 and driving in six, and was named the MVP of the series.

yea, but by the “championship round” arrives, there are at least four more games and by that time, most observers are either bored out of their heads or just indifferent to the outcome. The NFL is championship or go home. In order to get to that point in any other US professional sport (not talking soccer but real sports) you have to play at least three games in the championship round with the 4th being the must win game.
It’s almost as if the first 60 games are practice and the season starts in mid June. Same with NHL and NBA. The games don’t really start to get interesting until February/March and then the real season starts with the “playoffs” that end some time in June. Baseball is turning into this.
...forgot to mention that ‘It Gets Better’ was founded by radical sodomite extremist Dan (spits on doorknobs) Savage and his ‘husband’...

I like to keep politics out of my sports, if at all possible. Most cities are liberal-run cesspools, so disliking a team because of the politics of its host city simply makes no sense. EVERY single team in America has something about the host city to not like. Name any city, and I’ll point it out. Still, if that was my criteria for liking/disliking a team I’d like NONE of them in ANY Sport.
If we conservatives are better-learned and think more logically than the LIV emos, then local politics shouldn’t matter.
I like well-played sports, and this was a well-played series.
As in any championship competition, fans of the opposing teams will be more interested than those with teams who lost.
2) I agree that the postseason is much too long: one-and-done for the wild card, best-of-three for division and championship (which emulates the three-game series on which baseball schedules are based), and then the Series. Begin the regular season the first day of spring, end it the first day of fall, and the World Series would be at the beginning of October where it belongs.
3) OTOH, to all those who complain about the long boring baseball season, baseball differs from other sports. The other big sports (football, basketball, hockey) live or die by the spectacle, but baseball is a habit, like daily devotions or the morning coffee, and (like daily devotions) if you don't get into the habit when you are young, you will never get into the habit, nor understand those who do.

Well, you sure missed some spectacular pitching.
God plays baseball...I’d like to think.
>>Are you kidding? Ive never seen such consistently excellent pitching by both sides. The defensive plays alone made this a memorable series. Sorry your team didnt get there but sour grapes make for a poor whine.
Agreed thought Wacha last night was not the same Wacha as game 2. Some great defensive plays, offensive explosions, some tight games, unusual moments etc. Yeah I’m a Sox fan but would say just about the same thing if I were on the losing end. And it was fun to sit down and watch (or listen to) the series...just like the New York Yankees :)
This ALCS and World Series were some of the best, as far as evenly matched teams in the last several years. Several of the games were won or lost because of one good or bad play. Many were very even pitchers duels between the best in baseball.
The other major story for the Sox is they were in LAST place in in the AL East in 2012. They went from last to first in one season. Their Manager, a former pitching coach, was a master at getting the pitch count up on opposing pitchers. Also, there were only 4 Red Sox players: David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellesbury and John Lester that were on the team the last time they won in 2007. The rest of the team were all new. Several were in AA and AAA a year or two ago.

Great sports for those with a short attention span.
.
The scary thing is Wacha is a rookie. Hitters ten or fifteen years from now will be dreading him. St Louis needs to sign him to a long contract.
Actually, IMHO...this was a great series, for a number of different reasons. First, the St. Louis Cardinals & the Boston Red Sox are both NL/Al “Legacy’ teams. Having been a die hard Brooklyn Dodger fan...I truly know what that means. The history of both ball clubs is rich, historical and lengthy.
And....it was a fitting scenerio, taking place at Feway Park, in Boston, MA where the city suffered a devastating “terrorist attack” last spring. The team and the city, itself bonded...and that made the WS game so much more the fabric and strength fo the America Republic!!! Kudos to both teams for their strong showing of American values and patriotism.
And......the really great news from the deep “Blue” political state of MA and the city of Boston......is that the enemy of the American Republic, failed, POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama stayed away from the game...even though he tangled up auto traffic around the city!!! He stayed away from Fenway Park because he knew well, he would be massively booed and jeered, had he set foot in the ballpark!!!
And.....further, the Obama trip, at taxpayer expense, to Boston was a total flop...with Obama being booed and scorned at his very lighty attended political charade. No one with half a brain has any desire to see or hear thia would be destroyer of these United States of America!!!
Big Congrats to both the Red Sox & Cardinals for a great and needed WS that reconfirmed why the USA is the greatest country in the world!!! And....it would even be better if POTUS, Obama was forced to resign or impeached!!!
Yes...

Didn't miss a thing.
God plays baseball...Id like to think.
Right.
I love how Red Englanders leap to conclusions when they find someone that won't worship at the altar of their beloved sports franchises.
I'm certainly not a fan of any sports organization that would 'get in bed' (so to speak) with Dan Savage...one of the most despicable human beings on the planet. All in the name of 'tolerance'.
Savage’s sociopathic inclinations are well-known and it is deplorable that MLB is associating with him. But I will not let him win by ruining baseball for me.
