Jarrett: Obamacare doesn’t force you off your plan; your insurance company does,
Hotair ^

Posted on 10/29/2013 6:17:00 AM PDT by chessplayer

It’s just one tweet, but the sheer mendacity requires its own post. With the media finally in “now it can be told” mode since Obamacare passed and President Obama was reelected, pretty much everyone is admitting what all of us knew four years ago— that no, not everyone would be able to keep their plans if they liked their plans. And, yes, the Obama administration knew it just as sure as its critics did.

It was a lie and an obvious one, but the administration, much of the media, and Obamacare supporters happily acted as if it were true and happily smeared those who suggested otherwise. Tonight, the president’s right-hand woman tries the lie again, even as it’s demonstrably unraveling before the nation’s eyes.

Valerie Jarrett ✔ @vj44

FACT: Nothing in #Obamacare forces people out of their health plans. No change is required unless insurance companies change existing plans.

I think it will penetrate even the sludge that passes for brains in the heads of the low-information voters that all of this carnage started when Obamacare went into effect.

We owe a debt of gratitude to Ted Cruz for his filibuster and the government “shutdown”. The media, in their glee to blame it all on Republicans, pointed out that it was in an attempt to stop Obamacare from taking effect. It had ceased to be a mainstream story long ago. So a lot of the low-information types learned Obamacare was “starting now”...and then their insurance plans go away weeks later and replaced only with vastly more expensive options.

Took poor Valerie’s frame-up of the insurance companies away and left poor Barry out there on the front line. Too bad, so sad.

Everyone knows why people are losing their insurance.

It depends on what your definition of "everyone" is.

Josh... she’s not a “yes-woman” to Obama, he’s a “yes-man” to Jarrett.

It is amazing how cockroaches behave when light is shined on them. I guess it is the same with Commie Clown Prince nobama and his cockroach minions.

Holding a gun to the head of the insurance companies requiring particular minimum coverage ONLY in any policy they offer, so when the insurance companies parrot the requirements of the hostage taker, it’s all on the insurance companies.

No one is buying your BS, Valerie.

So what happens to those millions of families come Jan. 1 when their policies expire and they can’t get onto your piece of crap website to buy replacement policies?

Pitchfork time.

Smells like desperation or insanity. Maybe both.

I think it’d be worse if the websites WERE working -

then people could see how much their costs are going up.

Judging by the headlines I’m seeing today, ‘everyone’ seems to in fact mean what it says. The problem is that not ‘everyone’ is willing to face up to the truth.

They are turning on each other now inside the WH.

I'm not sure if that's good or bad, actually. While I love a good liberal fight as much as the next guy, the raw spite and hatred living in that house right now might cause even more lasting damage to the rest of us.

Agree, but if these people want to continue to be insured, and the vast majority probably will, they will need to purchase policies through the exchange.

Which isn’t functional. Then what come Jan. 1?

Be careful what you wish for. Single payer would become even more expensive. Under Obama care Insurance companies have to pay out 80% of all receipts, leaving 20% for overhead. Do you really believe Single payer would achieve that? History has proven over and over again that Government would run 120-150%m causing even higher premiums.
