My oldest grand daughter loves to cook! About 9 years old. She loves to cook up stuff in the kitchen with grandma.

She is starting a youngster cooking class this week.

There's a woman (and I use the term loosely) in our hood who orders out constantly. I told the delivery driver a ways back that if she ever learns out to cook he'll be out of a job.

On the other hand, there is a nine-year old girl in the area that is always discussing recipes with my wife...go figure.

Your granddaughter is encouraged to cook by her family. If there is no encouragement, children won’t learn.
