“..riots always typically begin the same way: when people cannot afford to eat food...”
It sounds like she is covertly encouraging a riot and almost hoping for it. The set up is to get a majority dependent on the government for food and then cut it back so there are riots and then Hussein can take full power- Alinsky theory at it’s finest.

I was on EBT for the better part of a year. I was ashamed. That said, the ammount we had on EBT was almost twice what we’d normally spend.

The fact that theyre going to lose whats basically an entire weeks worth food
Look at most the people on EBT. They could fast once a month and be fine.

Because, if there is a food stamp riot, all the rioters will be black.

Eleven bucks is sixteen meals for a family of three in NY?!!! How can anybody say things like this and pass the red face test? There is no way anyone in NY can stretch $11 to make 16 meals for 3 people. Hell, I’d think anybody anywhere in the US would be hard pressed to do that...
To: leapfrog0202
I could be very wrong, but Id bet the average food stamp user could likely cut $11 from their EVT purchases without much trouble.I think about the ones who had 9 or 10 kids on purpose to collect bennies. That'll be a big chunk and if they start screaming at the baby-daddies (if they know who they are) it could snowball.

an EBT card has SNAP benefits and other benefits (some cash like welfare or TANF money), so you can actually withdraw cash or pay for non subsidized items.

Did you ever hear of a riot that start by something that made sense?
"A hard lesson for our side. While were arguing fine points of rationality, the fighting begins by some loon doing something stupid - something I term the nuts move first."
Look at this thread, look how many FReepers are trying to put logic to the situation. They don't seem to understand that you can't use logic to determine what illogical people are going to do.
We go to McDonalds and order Chicken nuggets and they tell us they are out we tell them: "Well give me a Filet of Fish then" or we say "The I'll take a Big Mac." These people call 9-1-1 or start ranting and raving and start a mini riot right there in the lobby. Is it logical to pick a car at random and surround it and pull people out and beat them? Is it logical to walk down the street and pick a person at random and shoot them or beat the hell out of them because you are bored or just needing some fun? Is it logical to drive over to the park and spray it with automactic gun fire and kill innocents in the process because you think someone there "dis'd" you?
Yet as I said look how many on this thread are trying to put logic to the situation. These will be the first to get hit. They will walk blindly right into it,between their Norlamcy Bias and lack of situationaly awareness they won't even know what hit them. Whille they are they are being beaten beaten and killed they will still be trying to figure out the logic of their illogical predicament.

Hey steve, kudos for your ‘caring’ attitude.
But sadly, the system is grossly abused; these monies, whether weekly or monthly, are most often not due the recipients; and ultimately these ‘compassionate’ funds are the result of redistribution (THEFT).
The number of people today receiving gov’t monies for living purposes now outnumber the number of full time workers.
Cuts? I don’t care. If it were up to me, they would all end. ALL. Food stamps, medicare, Medicaid, welfare, ad nauseum.
Our country was stronger before and without them.

Let’s see the formula?
How were they surviving before all that stimulus cash came in?
If they riot and are jailed will that help their families?
Should we expect such low standards for the poor that we’d not think to ask them to use the ballot box?

$5 billion annual cut to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Two questions:
1) Is this an actual cut, or a "cut" to projected baseline spending increases which actually means it's just a smaller increase?
2) After you factor in the cut and adjust for inflation, what's the 2014 budget for SNAP relative to the one for, say, 2010? I'll bet that 2014's is considerably higher.

Anyone else here old enough to remember when being on aid was looked down upon? I most surely am. It was a dreadful disgrace yet even those people on relief were usually engaged in some occupations in an attempt to be self sufficient.
To: gaijin
If any one should be riotiing over food prices it is the people who work for a living and actually have to endure the horror show that going to the grocery store has become.
