Revolt: In 1989, angry seniors forced the repeal of a costly new Medicare benefit just a year after it passed. It's time for the millions now being savaged by ObamaCare to rise up and do the same.
When he was selling ObamaCare to the nation, President Obama said: "We will keep this promise to the American people. If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away."
Across the country, millions of Americans are now discovering this was an expensive lie.

Oh God, I could see where that would lead. So in other words it would be complete tyranny over healthcare. Actually I have a high suspicion this whole thing is just one big scam to bring tyranny in through the back door. This crap about fines being classified as a tax. They say the fines can only be collected through tax refunds but what if they did away with that, and then raised the health rates and fines through the roof? People would be unable to afford Obamacare and as a result you would have millions owing fines which they could raise to astronomical levels and there you go: You would have people enslaved to the state - The IRS could move in seize property, put liens on accounts, seize paychecks - pretty much everything that comes with tyranny, the state deciding whether you live or die nice stuff like that.
Inadvisable protests anymore, since any such actions likely be regarded as "terroristic threats" and vigorously repelled with elite guards and drones.
What they want to do, and what every liberal’s visceral desire is to do,
is to use the State to punish/exterminate those who oppose their ideology.
Controlling the healthcare system would fulfill that dream.
Welcome to the present.
One reason why I think single-payer won't occur anytime soon is because Obama's massive ego couldn't handle admitting failure.
It's why I will never become an AARP member, and toss out every piece of mail I get from that organization. (Actually, what I should do is send them back the postage-paid envelope ... empty ... that comes with every solicitation I get in the mail. At least they'd have to waste a few pennies each time I did it!)
Empty? No, enclose all the literature they sent you. Add some grocery store fliers, enough to bump the postage up a notch.
Yes, can you imagine what political favors could be given? Given to donors, special interest groups, etc? It would actually bring the "death panels" forward to a much earlier age. They wouldn't have to wait for conservatives to get old before denying treatment; they could do it right now. It would change the voting dynamic, because with government as the sole source for healthcare, even Republicans would have to run on providing healthcare to people. Their platform would probably claim to offer the best care, but with efficient, streamlined costs. The media would label that as draconian, and the two Republicans left in Congress would be left as tokens of the "old regime" in the country that once was. (In truth, even they would be disposed of...no tyrant leaves evidence of previous history.)
“One reason why I think single-payer won’t occur anytime soon is because Obama’s massive ego couldn’t handle admitting failure.”
You really think the Obama is going to be reluctant to admit the failure of the greedy insurance companies, the failure of the heartless, sabotaging Republicans and the failure of the free-market system in general? I have no doubt that this is how Obama will spin this, there will be no personal failure involved. Besides Obama freely admitted wanting a Single Payer system before he ran for president, but he did say that this would have to be accomplished gradually.
This guy has never once admitted failure, but he’s an old pro at assigning blame.
It's already working too... I've heard from a couple of 20-30 year olds in the past month, who's rates have doubled or more... who are already saying, "Screw this! Let's just go to single payer"..
These are people who HAVE BEEN, mostly conservative in their thinking. They're ready to throw in the towel. :-(
Sad...that these younger folks would rather throw in the towel for Socialism, rather than fight for the liberty and freedom our forefathers fought so hard for.
