Down in the polls, Republican Kenneth T. Cuccinelli on Thursday launched his sharpest attacks of Virginias gubernatorial campaign, accusing Terry McAuliffe of being a liar and of lacking substance while the Democrat said the attorney generals economic plan would wreck the states economy.
The candidates third and final debate covered little new ground but was marked by increasingly sharp exchanges, with Mr. Cuccinelli saying that being in favor of jobs and education is all well and good, but that talking is different from laying out a plan.
Theyre not plans. I like those, too. I like education I like puppies. But I dont bring a puppy home if I dont have a plan for how Im going to deal with that puppy, he said to laughter from the crowd at the Squires Student Center at Virginia Tech. Hes all puppy and no plan.
Breaking from normal debate protocol, Mr. Cuccinelli at one point tried to put Mr. McAuliffe on the spot, yielding 30 seconds of his time and daring his opponent to name just one government efficiency he would use to pay for his priorities.

And Rand Paul is making several appearances, too. That should help w/the youth and libertarian vote.
According to Mark Levin, McAuliffe has a 60-40 advantage among women. That’s the deciding factor.
My daughter goes to school in Fredericksburg, Va but is registered in Richmond. I’m picking her up on election day, driving her to Richmond so she can vote Cuccinnelli and then taking her back. I’m proud of her and that’s what’s necessary to win. Get your vote counted.
They should. But more than that. Republicans need a plan. Too many of them don’t. They are as bad about offering non-specific hope and change as Obama.
Neither party is talking about jobs. Neither party has a plan.
I have a ‘Women for Ken Cuccinelli’ bumpersticker on my car. I hope it helps.
Good for you! Every vote DOES count.
Beyond that, why a guy who can embezzle a quick million or two whenever he wants to would want a full time job like being governor is a question even the auricle can't answer.
I remember talking with a lady who recently arrived from the Ukraine right after Clinton got reelected and she yelled, "My God, why would you Americans vote for a socialist?" It took her several years to get here and become a citizen.
So I ask these women, "Why would you vote for a socialist?" Do you have children and grandchildren? Have you done any research at all on the misogynistic democratic party and the members therein? Do you know what socialism eventually does to a country, or more aptly stated, your children and grandchildren? Or is it all about abortion and the brainwashing "war on women" crap from the MSM. Think big picture ladies.
He is a sleazeball on the personal level, too. His children attended a school in my neighborhood and a teacher there told me how he always drove through the carpool line like it was a NASCAR track endangering the children and teachers. Always had a leadfoot on the accelerator.
With no help from the NJGOP or the Senate GOP, we almost elected a true conservative in Jersey over a Democrat rock star. IN NEW JERSEY. Lonegan got 44% on tea party ground game. You can do this Virginia. You do not want McCauliffe giving Virginia to Hillary. The Republic would be lost.
They vote socialist because they are looking for “free” things.
Sorry, HokieMom...... didn’t mean to impugn Cucinelli’s appeal as a candidate. I have not followed this race so am not familiar with his political personality.
a lofo is what I call a low information voter.
We were rooting for you down here and hoping the GOP could pull it out. I’m so sorry. The country went downhill so fast it’s prophetic.
There is a lot of support for the homosexual agenda in WY too, but it is not organized thus far.
You’re right, Girlene — those ‘lofo’ love the Democrats. We just can’t figure out how to help them become educated! *sigh*
That’s what it takes, people who will fight for their guy.
Anti-Cooch ads have blanketed the state for months. I think that’s all that many low-info voters know about Cuchinelli.
All the ponds nearby are covered with scum. The Potomac is maybe a couple miles away as the crow flies, or Heron, how it found my tiny evergreen covered pond is baffling...how it landed where it did it must have helecoptered in. When I scared it off it went 30’ practically straight up. Still can’t get over how big it was walking around. It looked like an Emu walking around with its head so high over the bushes.
The pond may become a fancy jacuzzi/lap-pool in the next few months so SSS isn’t an option.
The Laramie Lie? Maybe Oklahoma then.
