The Food and Drug Administration is recommending new restrictions on prescription medicines containing hydrocodone, the highly addictive painkiller that has grown into the most widely prescribed drug in the U.S.
In a major policy shift, the agency said in an online notice Thursday that hydrocodone-containing drugs should be subject to the same restrictions as other narcotic drugs like oxycodone and morphine.

I prefer plain old Empirin#3, with codeine. It upsets some peoples stomachs, but not mine. I took one teaspoon of cough syrup with hydrocodone, and it made my heart race, and I itched all over. Thankgoodness I only took half the prescribed dose of two teaspoons!
See that’s the issue with vicodin, on the couple of occasions when I took a higher dose for the pain it didn’t make my heart race but my skin itched and I felt like I needed to crawl out of it. That’s why I don’t understand people getting high on it, plus the rebound headache you get if you over do it is worse than the migraine and you just start a vicious cycle.

Damn double post, sorry.
All this will do is make it harder for the average person to get an Rx for pain.
These morons haven’t figured it out yet, make it harder to get and the black market takes off.
Which side of the road to drive on is regulated at the state level because it is a police function of the State. Drugs should be regulated at the state level per the Constitution.

It will also increase the street price for unlawful sales.

I always go to the “ask a patient” website when I get a new prescription. Some of the newer drugs we’re not familiar with have some serious side effects. You can learn a lot from the peoples comments about how it effected them. Even at my age I never realized itching was a sign of allergic reaction. I had some brain swelling from one of the “newer” antibiotics and itched like crazy. Don’t ever throw away painkillers, some day you might wish you had them.
Really, is hydrocodone any worse than the drugs that 0bama lets his pals bring in to the US? Any worse than letting drug cartels have free reign on the border?
They want people to suffer.
Perhaps. Nevertheless, there is no country in the world, a federation like ours, that controls medications on local level. Can you imagine what a nightmare it would be to administer?
Another frickin’ lie.

Opioids are opioids.
My wife takes Advil for a migraine. It works fine.
I have some Oxy but I never took it. It hides in a closet in case I need it.
cant have healthcare...cant have pain medication...i guess going illegal and doing drugs is what they want us to do and then they have an excuse to send us to control centers then to hell with LIBERTY AND FREEDOM...cause anyone who can fight is locked up...READ my byline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CONTROL, CONTROL, CONTROL my friend is all they are about!!
Read my tagline...got it!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never had pain my friend...if prescribed whats the problem if it is needed...they only want more regs, rules and control...fall down then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess the natural question for you and many others is “Who owns or should own your body?”

So you're willing to piss on the Constitution, and site foreign governments as a rationalization.
That’s the same question that abortion supporters ask. What’s your answer to them? “That’s different!” ?
