The Food and Drug Administration is recommending new restrictions on prescription medicines containing hydrocodone, the highly addictive painkiller that has grown into the most widely prescribed drug in the U.S.

In a major policy shift, the agency said in an online notice Thursday that hydrocodone-containing drugs should be subject to the same restrictions as other narcotic drugs like oxycodone and morphine.

I believe this is already the case in NY. They now run a background check on you for a whole bunch of drugs (not just hydrocodone).

Regards,

“Soon there will be a directive on how many times a day we can flush.”

When I lived in southern CA back in the 80’s - THEY DID!

Don’t ever throw away painkillers, some day you might wish you had them.

They expire after a year or two and might work partially for another year or two. After that, nada.

Seriously, I see the difference. I am only trying to point out that using the Left’s arguments to advance our own agenda, leads to unexpected places, just like the Left’s argument about “choice” leads them to places they’d rather not visit, such as for example the choice to own firearms. “my own body”, again? Well, let’s then legalize prostitution, heroin, absinthe, etc.

You said ....I’m confused here...a few years back Osama Obama announced that the cornerstone of Obamacare would, apart from forbidding doctors to amputate limbs for profit,be that “maybe you’re better off not having the surgery but taking the pain killer”.

I said “Another frickin’ lie” Referring to 0bama’s more frickin’ lies, because now he wants to control pain meds also.

Sorry, I should have made it clearer. Words do have a way of getting misrepresented if they’re not spelled out.

How can Obamacare trust these massive databases but these same guys want to require physical prescriptions?

How else can someone hack your records....and when you are being hauled off to the chemical dependency unit, they will have sold the pills for street value...

Point taken. I’m not actively seeking legalization of prostitution or hard drugs, don’t really care one way or the other, but I’m absolutely not willing to give up a single Constitutional right so my contractors for law and order can fight them either. If they can’t fight a given fight without erecting a bunch of “exceptions” to the Constitution, then it’s not a fight they have any business fighting. If the price is that hard drugs and/or prostitution become legal, so be it.
