Doing some thinking today about how a few liberals made a college close to where I grew up change their name.
The name was the University of Miami Redskins in Ohio.
They became the Redhawks because Redskins is off course to offensive.
I searched trademarks and found the name Washington Redhawks was trademarked by a guy in D.C. Back in Febuarary.

Is somebody looking to get rich off this? Who is this guy? Any close ties to Dan Snyder or the Redskins? Any involvement in the protesting for the name change?
Let us know when you've completed it.
The Washington Redmohawks!
These people are ‘Trademark Squatters’. They register a trademark in the hopes of selling to the actual owner for a huge profit............
The Washington Red Inks would be very apropos.................
Picky bit, but the University of Miami is in Florida. Miami University is in Ohio.
I suggested that when they changed their names from Redskins to Redhawks that they should dump the Miami name (from one of the local tribes and the major river in the area) for Oxford (name of the city they are in) so that the Indian tribe be forgotten completely. No one listened to me. :-(
Snatch up the domain name now,,, cyber squat it...
It's the real solution to the Washington Redskins problem:
It's a universally appealing solution!
The conservative case:
Naming a professional sports franchise after somebody is an honor worthy of Ronald Reagan because of his great accomplishments, including, but not limited to:
The liberal case:
Naming a professional sports franchise after a person is a horrendous and dishonorable insult to their legacy, a fate Ronald Reagan deserves because of the horrible things he did, including, but not limited to:
A city named after a great president deserves a football team named after a great president.
LOL! Can I help you whitewash that fence?
They don’t even play in Washington DC.
“Beltway Braves” is probably a more accurate/descriptive moniker - IF they decide to make the mistake of changing it at all.
So then why not the Washington Washingtons?
Or Washington Redtape
No way!!!! It would be hard to hate them then. Can’t do that.
Right now they would be the Washington Red Faces................
The Washington BraveHearts was trademarked earlier this month by Dan Snyder’s neighbor.
Sure, but it seems pretty dumb to do that before anyone has chosen to use the name. Who is going to go with “Washington Redhawks” if they see it is already trademarked? They’ll just pick something else.
Not to mention that Ronnie starred in one of the great football films of all time, so there is at least a small connection to the sport.
And their secondary can be collectively nicknamed Star Wars, because they intercept bombs.
