President Obama told the nation there is “no excuse” for the disastrous rollout of the health-care exchanges that are central to Obamacare.
But that didn’t stop Kathleen Sebelius, his secretary of Health and Human Services in overall charge of the project, from making excuses in a CNN interview with Dr. Sanjay Gupta yesterday. She claimed to Gupta that President Obama hadn’t been told of any potential problems prior to the launch of the exchanges on October 1 — a dereliction of duty anyway one defines it.
But there was also this startling explanation of what went wrong at HHS:
“We talked about having testing going forward, and if we had an ideal situation and could have built a product and, you know, a five-year period of time, we probably would have taken five years but we didn’t have five years. And certainly, Americans who rely on health coverage didn’t have five years for us to wait. We wanted to make sure we made good on this final implementation of the law.”

If the government cannot put up a working web site to enroll in Obamacare has anyone given a thought to how competent they will be administrating your health care. Imagine being brought by ambulance to a hospital emergency department bloodied and battered from a car accident and be denied care because your Obamacare coverage is somehow lost in the system.

My boss would fire employees for saying, “I’m working on it.” He wanted to know what was being done and if there were problems, what action was being taken to rectify it.

exactly.. he knew... she isn’t fired because if he fires her, she talks... how could they not have known? they asked “is it ready?” and the answer was: “well, yes and no, their may be a few problems”....at which point he should have delayed....
Amazing. Well, we wanted to give them at least ONE more year ...but they didn’t take that, I guess ...because they needed FIVE years ....riiiiigggghhht.
Why didn’t they have Walmart do the system? They have the most sophisticated logistics system on the planet. They have enormous coverage. They have pharmacies and clinics in thousands of locations.
Let's give them 500 years and make them stick to it. If they finish the project before 500 years, then we are willing to wait.
