Members of Congress and their staffs are on red alert tonight for a CBS 60 Minutes investigation by veteran CBS reporter Steve Kroft and Government Accountability Institute (GAI) President and Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer exposing how lawmakers convert campaign donations into lavish lifestyle upgrades for themselves and their family members.
Sources say top CBS executives thought the report was so explosive that they made it the shows lead story and delayed airing it for another week in order to capture tonights much larger NFL-viewing audience. The report features selected revelations from Schweizers forthcoming book, Extortion: How Politicians Extract Your Money, Buy Votes, and Line Their Own Pockets.

A) It’ll never air and (B) if it does, it’ll be edited to make the GOP, especially Ted Cruz the villains.
The part I git to see showed 2 Dems, then my mom changed the channel.
Makes me proud to know that I have one of the poor congressmen. He’s still sleeping in his office after being elected in 2010.
Obviously he makes what a congressman makes but he’s not making a bunch of money on the side as far as I can tell.
Some hit piece.
Steve Kroft is no Mike Mallace.
You’re welcome. I’m surprised I remembered so much. Forgot about Rep. Waters. But like others said, they glossed over it and it could have been so much more devastating a report. Then again, who will blink first? Will conservatives pull back on their giving to PACs, while libs continue to shrug their shoulders and give more money to the rats?
Can’t watch it. Its like watching Russians moan about communism. We have a communist government. Its supposed to be corrupt.
Didn’t watch, don’t watch propaganda if I can help it. Betcha they were just as hard on rats as they were on pubbies (not)
I missed 60 Minutes tonight; I was out and didn't set a timer.Anyone know if it is repeated during the week, or if it is available on line?
Why do you suppose that she earned the nickname, "Barbara Bouncer?"
She was immediately quietly relegated to the Congressional "attic," where the "crazy aunt" has been able to cause only minimal damage ever since.
I’ve seen a lot of good things on 60 MINUTES over the years. Usually, at least one segment is worth watching. I think some of you are living in the 70’s.
Any mentions of $100 million dollar junkets to Africa or golf 140x? Aspen, Martha’s Vineyard, India? Didn’t think so.
