New mom faces ARREST because she took son she's breastfeeding to jury duty when there was no-one else to care for him.
A Missouri woman is to face court this week for bringing her new born child to the courthouse for jury duty because she was breastfeeding. Laura Trickle, of Lees Summit, delivered her daughter Axel in March and was breastfeeding when she was called for jury duty in August. She asked to be exempt from appearing, as she was breastfeeding, but received notice that she must report to court to fullfill her civic obligation and serve jury duty, according to the Kansas City Star.
Trickle was told to either arrange for child care or bring somebody with her who could care for the child during jury selection. On September 3, she appeared for jury duty with her child, but according to the ensuing court order, she willfully and contemptuously appeared for jury service with her child and no one to care for the child. Trickle will now face Jackson County Presiding Judge Marco Roldan on Thursday at a hearing at the Jackson County Courthouse downtown. Those who skip jury duty can be found in contempt of court and ordered to pay a fine of up to $500 and maybe even be arrested. The mother insists she is not a criminal, saying Ive never even had a speeding ticket.

They wouldn’t grant an exemption for a nursing mother? Pricks.
Everyone should be like you, and if they aren't they absolutely deserve prison.
It’s been awhile since we had a sink kitty.
Currently no good candidates for a UT move.
:(
My wife had to go back to work 30 days after giving birth to twin girls. And she was breast feeding.
She had to work 1 month to get what we called her “quitting bonus”
So I took a leave from work so I could watch the girls Monday - Friday for that month.
So Yeah, I know about it.
exactly
Jury Duty fanatics, who needs’em?
The thing is, jury duty doesn’t have to suck. Pay real money for the service, treat with dignity, and people will volunteer.
I’m amazed at all the ways government will waste money,. But jury duty isn’t one of them.
They spend more money hunting down Jury Duty skippers than they spend on those serving
I thought Missouri was the “show me state”.
Oh, but UT candidates can pop up in an instant. It’s only a matter of time before some retard is going to post us a really good thread. And we already know the infrastructure can withstand a UT thread north of 65,000 posts, so we can afford to wait. I assume we have Baldwin’s Moving on a retainer, right? TheOldLady has a good stock of zot pics. I think Face’s truck is being fixed this week, so we’re ready.
I am thinking that was meant rhetorically
” my favorite part of the
ordeal is when they have a Judge or
politician who got called get up and make
a speech about how wonderful we are
and how much we’re appreciated,”
I wonder if the judge would like to hear, “Words are cheep.”
No now you’re telling a mother how to feed her child? That’s something Mooshelle would do.Someone quoted this term....lots of “totalitarian fanboys” on this forum lately.
And even at that, even the military makes post- pregnancy exceptions to policy.
You sound like you have the common sense of an officer - none. The manual didn't say, so Mongo no know what to do.
They always here at least two words from me after the “pep speech.” Can you guess what they are? One rhymes with “truck” and the other rhymes with “blue.”
(Well, the pol will. Never know if I ever have to appear before a Judge, right?)
My, My, My aren’t we the little name callers this afternoon.
Bless Your Heart
“Laura Trickle
Oh. Come. ON. “
Annie Sprinkle’s cousin.
That judge is a total douche bag! Here in Texas mothers caring for small children are exempt from jury duty period! My county which is hardly a leader in implementing modern IT has an automated system that allows people check in online and fill out all the information that used to be entered on paper forms when showing up for the first morning of jury duty. In addition anyone who is exempt from jury duty can log into that system and check the appropriate box onscreen and submit the reason for the exemption online without ever having to travel to the county courthouse!
Nope, because there is at least one *perfectly* legitimate alternative she shouldn't be exempt from any of her legal responsibilities. If the only choices were breatfeeding or starvation it would be an entirely different story but that's not the case,is it? She's a breatfeeding fanatic...just as Moochelle is a Marxist fanatic.
Where will we find this woman next.On a picket line to "protect women's health clinics"?
Haters gonna hate
