Why Health Insurance is Skyrocketing

I have been trying to figure out why the Government regulations are being required of the insurance companies. Why make them cover say maternity costs for all women, including those over fifty? I think I have the explanation. By the health insurance skyrocketing for all, people will be forced to pay and accept higher costs associated with medical care. That way, when the inevitable single payer system is implemented, the citizenry will not feel as much pain as they would have when every working person's Federal taxes go up 10% to pay for healthcare for all.

I did not think we disagreed much. It’s a govt. of the lawyers, by the lawyers, and for the lawyers. The dems are masters at class warfare, and it’s pretty clear many even on FR agree with that part of it. So single-payer will come soon after the ACA pain is maximized.

Whether they’re private or public for profit doesn’t matter much to me. The lawyers have woven a web of 1000’s upon 1000’s of laws and regs and will always find some violation to tap into any vein of moving money. Public co’s are bound in tighter chains.

“OMG, the govt. actually used people knowledgeable about insurance to write the regs about insurance, instead of asking firemen or dock workers to write it”

Why do you keep insisting that the government get involved in our healthcare?

the health insurance companies sold out to obamacare

I'd think the health insurance companies have a big problem. For starters, they've invested lots of time and money setting up websites and everything else associated with these new insurance policies. They'll take the hit, at least until rates can be adjusted, if only really sick people sign up. What happens when those who do sign up can't make their monthly bill or their deductible? They've lost the stable profitable market they used to have selling catastrophic policies to people who mostly wouldn't get a horrible disease they've insured for. And I'm wondering how it's going to go with people sneaking other people's kids on their policies etc

Maybe that's why the disgusting traitor saboteur RINOs in the US Senate kicked us in the teeth. The insurance companies just might be telling them they're in too deep now to not get some profits off of it.

Just my thinking out loud....
