Despite presiding over a chamber that nearly drove the country to a debt default, John A. Boehner still has the enduring support of a group that wouldve been most harmed by that event: the business community.
Rather than revisit their strategy of supporting Republicans after this weeks near-disaster, influential organizations such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are standing behind Boehner.
More importantly, Boehners friends in the business community are getting ready to take sides in a few Republican primary races against tea party candidates in Michigan, Idaho and Alabama who could cause the House speaker more trouble.

Key word here...Lobbyist...The Chamber of Commerce has been real friendly with Obama too.
I keep hearing the word “dysfunctional” Government. Part of the “dysfunction” can be attributed to the Lobbyists who play all sides against the middle.
Lenin was right, but he understated it. Idiot capitalists will buy the rope that hangs them, not sell it.
The Washington Times should do a story on how much these business are making from Government contracts.
I think somebody just kicked open a Tea Party Ant Hill...I sure hope so.
Maybe a career change calls to you. There's a great need out there.
The banksters would love a default. Just a couple of points on the ol' Fed Funds rate and the government would be on it's knees at every bond auction.
It all comes down to who prints the money.
“...there is more rage and hatred out there now than during the Civil War...”
You’d be right.
Taliban?
Do you REALLY want someone like me, actually ACTING like a Taliban terrorist?
Keep it up. I have less to lose on a daily basis.
Excellent attitude. I wish more people shared it.
Correct, Bohner probably will jump ship end of next year.
If so then one of the mice will have to step up
They know. They don’t care.
If they can use it to create the false image association, it’ll play well in the MSM and with the low information voter types.
RE :I told him I will hold HIM accountable if our leadership allows amnesty in any form. A vote against is not good enough. The leadership serves at their pleasure and their are accountable for that vote.”
I agree. At this stage give Obama NOTHING
The Chamber Commerce types care only about one thing - money. Heartless people, the lot of them. I support lower taxes (which they love) but they will never stand up for any social issues.
Seems like this is one of the few issues where people do get active. It was stopped under Bush, and has at least been slowed in the House. The leadership seems determined to pass something, though. Unfortunately, we just saw them break ranks with the majority of Reps this week, and we’ll probably see it again. This issue is ballgame.
I am not even a hardliner on this issue, but the current Senate bill is disastrous.
Time for the Libertarian Tea Party and leave the GOP behind
The only ‘reason’ that matters - because it works. The msm will pick up on it and run with it, until it becomes accepted dogma that the TP is synonymous with terrorism.
Finally, when DHS decides it wants to go after ‘domestic terrorists’, the TP will be at the top of the list. And the RINO’s and party bosses will turn a blind eye and a deaf ear. The public at large will appreciate how dhs foiled another ‘terrorist plot’.
Smith has been endorsed by Citizens United and the Club for Growth as well as many ID GOP luminaries and is considered the Tea Party candidate.
I live in ID-1 and can't vote for him, but I'll do what I can to support him. We need representatives from Idaho that mirror Cruz and Lee and have their backbone. That ain't Simpson.
Unless we find a way to cut off the money flowing to K-Street...this insanity will continue.
