-snip-
On Monday, conservative provocateur Ann Coulter visited Sean Hannity for a plug-her-latest-book sitdown, during which her host tossed out what he no doubt assumed would a typical conservative-colleagues-in-arms softball: Establishment Republicans are at war with the Tea Party base, and Im angry about it! But Coulter slammed it, so to speak, to the opposite field, going on a tear against Newt Gingrich, Todd Akin, Mark Sanford, and Liz Cheney, whom she declared to be hucksters, shysters, and people ripping off the Republican Party for their own self-aggrandizement, for their own egos, to make money.

Coulter backed Mitt Romney because he had the best shot at winning. He was a former governor.
Actually, anyone with any political acumen would have known that Romney was the least likely to have beaten Obama because out of all the candidates, given his record as Governor and his past policy positions, he was the most LIKE Obama.
So, that really cannot be the reason.
Obama was the best possible target, with his extreme left-wing policy positions, broken campaign promises, destruction of the Economy, support for Gay-Marriage, support for Abortion that a GOP Nominee could possibly go up against.
Romney's problem was that on almost all issues, he either agreed with Obama, or had taken the same policy position as Governor.
Romney could not fight, because the charges of "Hypocrite" backed by historical fact FROM HIS OWN HISTORY would have been forthcoming immediately.
So Romney, even though he had a target-rich environment with Obama as his opponent, sat on his hands and said nothing.
He was the absolute worst presidential candidate for the GOP ever!

Sorry, but socialist Romney deserved to be the last straw for the electorate with the money-media and GOP machine out in force, rigging nominations for cramming down Democrat lite candidates on our ticket.
That battle needed to be fought and it finally came, and out in the open. Many want to fight the real thing and not some lighter version of it just because they have an “R” hanging out of their pants.
Obama brought the country to its knees with communistic inroads and the voters now see that he takes not fake R’s, but patriots to overcome it.
Romney was a putz with money galore, and he killed us. Sometimes, having a spine means you stand up by walking away.

I suspect Coulter makes more money when marxists are running the country. I can’t think of any other reason for her support of Romney. The simple fact that we lost the 0care card with a Romney ticket, OUR BIGGEST CARD, should have kept anyone with a modicum of sense from supporting him in the primaries.

Better to have the marxist muslim in charge.
Neither would be better.
Romney, with his progressive beliefs, policy positions, and actions as Governor, absolutely destroyed the GOP in Massachusetts.
Given his past history of Progressivism, and his past history of almost always saying one thing (where a conservative policy position was concerned) and doing another, you could count on Romney doing the following:
1. Pushing through Gay Marriage
2. Weakening the Anti-Abortion stance of the GOP
3. Pushing through Amnesty
4. Pushing through some form of Global Warming legislation
5. Doing absolutely nothing to reign in the size of Government or getting real meaningful tax relief.
These were just some of the issues that Romney either pushed through or tried to while Governor.
He would succeed with the Democrats and the GOP Collaborators we have right now on all of these issues and in so doing, would do the same thing he did in Massachusetts: Destroy the GOP.

Romney blew it when he did not nail Obama on Benghazi (thanks Candy, you pig). Romney should have been much better prepared and much more forceful on that issue (what the hell was he thinking?). All the wind left his sails after that pitiful performance in CNN debate.

See #85.
Romney has a storied history of switching positions based on whomever he is talking to, and dependent on whichever way the political winds are blowing.
This has been documented ad nauseum here on FreeRepublic.
Have you not been paying attention?

Just stop. The last things we need to be talking up and praising are RINOs and Mitt is one of the head RINOs. That is Ann Coulter’s problem. She claims to be a conservative but she coddles RINOs like Romney and Christie.
As for your mistaken idea that Romney was the only one with a chance to win, you can just stuff that too. I live in Florida the biggest battleground state. I got to see Romney up close and personal both in the primaries running against real conservatives and in the general election running against a marxist. Romney actually campaigned against the conservatives. He gave Obama a pass. Didn’t even bother to run. Romney could not bring himself to upset his liberal friends, Obama being one.
Any of the other conservative candidates would have at least run against Obama. Romney spent his time agreeing with him.

Romney was and is a coward, and a traitorous collaborator.
Romney couldn't fight because almost all of his past policy positions were almost identical to Obama's.
If he had tried to actually nail Obama on any of the numerous issues he is wrong on, all Obama had to do was say: "Hey Mitt, wasn't it a few short years ago that you actually agreed with me, like right before you decided to run for President?" And then call him a hypocrite.
Romney had not ammunition because of Romney's own record.
Romney, and the GOP, were toast from the moment he gained the nomination.
A worse candidate for GOP Presidential Nominee could not be found.
And given the current political climate regarding the traitorous Collaborators we are dealing with in the GOP, it is sad that anyone on this conservative website would still be making excuses for Romney.

You can believe the Moon is made of Green Cheese as well as believe that the same man who made statement in support of John McCain's original Amnesty Proposal wasn't going to grant Amnesty if he got to be President.
As long as we have naïve, uninformed people like you on our side, we're not likely to win.

Yall are fools! I sat out the 08 election because I just could not bring myself to vote McCain. But after 4 years of pure Marxism/socialism I realized that ANYONE that did not have a D after their name would be a huge improvement. Did I like Romney? Hell no, would I walk over broken glass to vote out the current pres with just about anyone else? Yes. So now yall are going to get what you enable, a Marxist USA with the Rats getting everything they wanted including amnesty in one form or another. Rumsfield whom I detest did say one wise thing, “You go to war with the army you have”, last election that was Ronmey and make no mistake, it was war since for the first time ever a true Marxist was on the ballet.

Mugged is an excellent book. It documents as only Ann can how the Dems have turned history on its head regarding race.
Haven't bought her new one yet but I will soon.

Sorry son, but I can't segment my life and put my political actions outside my relationship with my Lord and Savior.
Romney supported the Murders of unborn children AND the Gay Agenda in his run for President.
I can't and won't jeopardize my relationship with Jesus so that some one a little less evil can become President.
Jesus will judge ALL of my actions at his Judgment Bar and I want him to be able to say "Well done thou good and faithful servant".
If the GOP wants my vote, they won't ask me to vote for someone who violates the most important of all values/principles, including Life.

Huh? 30 million? Let me restrain myself from piling on....
Romney really pander beared you, didn’t he? Lol.
He is now quoted as saying he wished he had “reached out more to Hispanics”. I bet he does!
He hired them enough himself, kept them in business, in his own back yard. TWICE!
He is the Founding Father of Obamacare, and the FIRST to mess with RELIGIOUS LIBERTY, allowing abortion cram downs against the Catholic Church in Massachusettes.
sheesh. Buy. a. clue.
Now, I’ll stop.

Naysayers like you are hardly new, but in the past they have usually come from leftist sources.
I don't expect this new book to do as well as some of her earlier best sellers. It's mostly a collection of her syndicated columns with perhaps 20% new material. But it will do alright. She probably peaked with Treason in 2003, although she's written seven books since.
To think her publisher will dump her indicates lack of knowledge as to who her publisher is. She's returned to her original publisher, Regnery. They're in the business of publishing and promoting conservative writers. They've been at it a long time. They're most likely delighted to have her back. When all is said and done, her sales will easily justify their support. Keep in mind, the book's release date was only 3 days ago, October 14th.
Many have sung her Swan Song in recent years, you're not the first nor will you be the last.
Ann Coulter will laugh all the way to the bank. Ain't the free market grand!

This is the REAL Mitt Romney on illegals.
My jaw dropped when I saw Mitt denying his illegals in the 2007 debate, and was not surprised what came of it a week later (well, surprised but not totally shocked).
Governor Mitt and wife Ann, were interacting with the Guatemalan illegals at their private home for 10 years. The landscaper that the illegals worked for, was a naturalized Colombian himself, personally chosen by Mitt, (A naturalized Colombian, Guatemalan illegals, and a sitting Governor during 4 years of that period), IDs better have been checked.
In December of 2006, the republican Governor was exposed, and suffered national embarrassment for using illegals for 10 years.
In December of 2007, in a national debate, Rudy Giuliani accused Mitt Romney of having run a Sanctuary Mansion. On national TV, Mitt Romney indignantly denied the claim.
A few days after the debate, the Boston Globe decided to look again at Mitts house, and guess what, they found Guatemalan illegals, they were working for the same Colombian, MITT HAD NEVER FIRED THEM!
Ten years and a national scandal, turned into 11 years, and into a second national scandal, with all the same players, the same contractor, Guatemalan illegals, and the same Mitt Romney and his wife interacting with them at their home during the week.

Renergy pays 10-15% royalty on book sales. So Miss Coulter is making $200-300/day towards her advance which will not even come close to covering her advance which was at least $100,000.
