Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst calls for Impeachment of Barack Obama

Texas Lt. Governor David Dewhurst called for the impeachment of Barack Hussein Obama during a Tarrant County Tea Party candidate forum on Monday.

According to the Texas Observer:

The crowd at Monday’s meeting of the Northeast Tarrant Tea Party got more than they bargained for. The event at Concordia Lutheran Church in the Fort Worth suburb of Bedford was originally planned so tea party members could learn about the Muslim Brotherhood’s supposed infiltration of the United States. But the crowd was also treated to a dose of the sniping that’s come to define the Texas lieutenant governor’s race — and saw the state’s second-highest elected official, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, call for President Obama’s impeachment and removal from office.

Dewhurst was the first lieutenant governor candidate to speak. Since losing a 2012 Senate primary to Ted Cruz in part because of his insufficient tea party cred, Dewhurst has been working hard to ingratiate himself with his party’s right wing. He’s reached out to, and won praise from, tea party leaders around the state. And given the chance to appeal to the Northeast Tarrant Tea Party, Dewhurst opened with the big guns.

“This election is about protecting you and your freedoms, which are given to you by God, but which are being trampled on by Barack Obama right now. I don’t know about you, but Barack Obama ought to be impeached,” he declared to hearty applause. “Not only for trampling on our liberties, but what he did in Benghazi is just a crime.”

Following the event, Dewhurst told the Observer, “I think this president, Barack Obama, has disregarded federal law. He’s tried to do things which are not authorized under federal law, such as with immigration, such as not following our federal drug laws. He’s created winners and losers out of Obamacare where he has no authority, such as allowing for the unions and big businesses to postpone their mandates for a year.”

He also added his concern about Benghazi.

“I’m very concerned about Benghazi, in which all of the national news reporting indicated that live video was streaming into the White House. That means that there was an overhead platform, probably a drone in the area. At least that’s what it tells me,” he said. “And for not mobilizing some response to protect the ambassador and those three Americans is just outrageous to me. Just outrageous.”

Dewhurst did clarify that he was speaking his personal opinion in the capacity of a private citizen, not in his role as Lieutenant Governor.

Additionally, a spokesperson for Dewhurst told the Texas Tribune believes that Obama took his role as president too far on issues like immigration and Obamacare, as well as his role, or lack of one, in the attacks in Benghazi, which left four Americans dead.

“He feels very strongly about the tragedy in Benghazi and has said that Congress should consider impeaching the President over the tragedy,” the spokesman told the Tribune. “David Dewhurst also believes that President Obama should be held accountable for Washington’s failure to secure the border and the gross overreach of the federal government under Obamacare.”

While I’m glad to hear Dewhurst take this stand, I do have to wonder at his motives, especially in light of the spineless way he dealt with the TSA situation back in 2012.

Impeaching this monster is the right thing to do, but dithering around until he's completely murdered America is about all we can expect from this complicit Congress. Conservatives have only a handful of allies in this incestuous two party system.

What must be done is to weed out the lowlifes that elect based on the goodies they get. Anyone on welfare shouldn't be allowed to vote and neither should anyone who can't pass a simple voter test should be sent back to their plasma televisions.

Our permanent underclass allies with the liberal traitors to extend our misery!

Yeah, he wouldn’t be saying that if he were elected to the Senate instead of Cruz. He would have caved early along with McConnell. What a tool!

Dewhurst is panicking, trying to get to the right of Dan Patrick and Jerry Patterson, his main opponents for Lt Gov. It’s a mask. Dewhurst won’t even stand up to pipsqueak TX ‘Rats like Wendy Davis, Abortion Barbie.

Now THIS is just a waste of time and energy.
Even if he is impeached in the House, he still has to be convicted in the Senate.
The odds of either happening is somewhere between slim, none and snow in Hell.
Just like the budget and debt ceiling fight, fighting back is pretty futile with the current makeup of congress. But it is a good fight, if for no other reason than to help pick our future leaders. I say, we divorce the Obama-Republican party, form a Tea Party party and do what we can to clean up that mess.
But as an insurance policy, arm up. Cause it’s coming.

Impeachment is a dream that is too good to come true unfortunately.

The GOP has shown to only have a few real men and a disturbing amount of cowards.

Dewhurst must think Texans have a very short memory.

He has a record.

Don't worry about it. Dewhurst is not serious. He's like the little chihuahua behind the screen door on the porch barking like mad as the big dogs walk past on the street, then strutting about, impressed with his toughness for telling them what's what. Sound and fury signifying nothing.

Hey do-do hearst, why did you even let abortion Barbie stage her filibuster? You had the power to stop that BS.

Right now, it's Greg Abbott and Tom Pauken on the GOP side. Looks like the 'Rats are hitching their wagon to Abortion Barbie Wendy Davis.

I could go either way between Abbott and Pauken. Lately Pauken has been making the case that Abbott is too close to Big Money.

Either Abbott or Pauken will crush Barbie.

DoWorst is just trying to get his name on the news. He and everyone else knows there is no way to impeach the kenyan with this Senate.

Texas needs to be done with DoWorst!

Pauken has nothing going for him except to try to smear Abbott. Pauken has lost every race he has run. Pauken, in my opinion and the opinion of others who were working in the Republican Party when Pauken was our state chair, he was the worst state chairman we ever had and got the party in financial trouble and the Republican governor wouldn't take his phone calls. I know that is true because he said it to my husband and me. Pauken has no redeeming value when it comes to being a leader - he isn't one.

The POS didn't want my husband to be the county chairman, but my husband crushed Pauken’s choice, so Pauken’s secretary treated us like dirt after we won. That secretary even came to our county after we won, to meet with the small group who backed Pauken's man and they conspired to make our political life as difficult as possible. Then, Pauken, being in trouble as chairman of the state party, quit as state chairman and there went the secretary, too - good riddance.

Susan Weddington became the state chair and she loved coming to our Republican office and came during the Christmas season to be in our parade. She could have gone to any Texas county but she came to ours. My husband was chairman for ten years until his health failed, and we turned that county from Democrat to Republican.

Gregg Abbott, a fearless fighter against Hussein/Holder, for Texas Governor.

Dewhurst, please leave public office, make a lot of money in the private sector, show your public support for conservatives for a few years (including big domations to winning tea party candidates and groups), then come back and see us.

Thanks, Marcella. I was leaning Abbott anyway but that helps to solidify the choice.

Everyone needs to sow the seeds of impeachment. Obama’s selective enforcement of the law is in direct conflict with the constitution. He ha done much more... but in this alone he could be impeached.
