The best thing Republicans can do know is leave Obamacare alone. Let it implode, let the people see what a disaster it is, and let them feel the pain.

Yes, it means we have to feel the pain too and we have to suffer the onerous beast, but in the end Republicans can stand back as the 2016 elections roll around and say “See, we told you what would happen, now elect us and let us fix it.”

the income verification piece could trigger a new round of headaches for Obamacare

Evil conservatives won't let us commit fraud at will.

Libs oppose verification for two reasons:
1. Verification will expose illegal immigrants signing up to get 0bamacare and
2. Verification will expose fat cats getting subsidies they don't deserve.

So is this a setup to blame conservatives for why Obamacare is imploding?

Income verification is required for any other service or commodity, why not health care?

Verifying income is an attempt to kill Obamacare? Only a liberal would say that. If this program was run correctly, verifying income is what would make it work....sort of like a bank verifying income before making a loan.....so a loan program could stay viable

The problem is, even now income is not going to be verified. The feds will eventually just start giving the healthcare policies away...my prediction....to anyone who logs on (Laws be damn!!!). Eventually, the Dems will scream we need to raise everyones taxes 50% to pay for national healthcare....or don’t you love babies, grandma, and minorites? It’s that simple and we all know it.

There’s no need to “sabotage” Obamacare. Just hold it to the letter of the law, because it’s completely untenable as written.

No revisions. No “technical corrections”. No administrative decisions or changing things via regulation.

Then just sit back and watch it implode, while saying “I told you so”.

Income verification is one of these. Another can be seen in a court case Oklahoma has brought against the law saying that federal exchanges do not qualify for subsidies because the law doesn’t specify that they do. And it wasn’t an accidental omission, either - I remember this from the original discussion - because the subsidy for federal exchanges was explicitly not added to keep the CBO-projected cost under the magic $1T threshold.

David wants the same income and eligibility requirements used for Obamacare as that of SNAP, WICs, TANF, EITC, Section 8, et al. NOTHING. Same as for a Democrat voter’s eligibility. NOTHING....

The author is presuming that Obama is actually going to comply with the law, which he has given absolutely no indication that he is willing to do throughout his entire Presidency.

Glad they see it this way, but sadly, no, this “concession” did not even amount to a fig leaf of respectability.

Verifying income is considered ‘sabotage’ these days? Next they’ll be telling us that freedom is slavery and ignorance is strength. Oh wait . . .

I’m sure the conference committee will remove this provision. The liberals of both parties will not let it stand.

Socialist playbook: When a socialist scheme blows up because the entire concept is an utter failure, that has failed everywhere it was tried, complain:

1) It was underfunded.
2) It was sabotaged.
3) It only works if it is universal, with no competition.
4) (total denial mode) It did work, and perfectly.
