Unto the jungle gods of politics we commit the bodies of our Republican brethren; earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, in sure and certain hope of these ignoramuses political extinction
Well, now, isnt that the media narrative as to the hooting and hollering in Washington, D.C. over debt ceilings, government shutdowns, and so on and so on?
Is there anything to such talk? I suggest that before moving that discussion forward we acknowledge and bewail the barren naïveté of those Republicans are you listening, Sen. Cruz ? who thought all they had to do to make Obamacare go away was fold their arms and clamp their jaws. I cannot think of a serious politician of 50 years ago Ev Dirksen, Sam Rayburn, Lyndon Johnson, Dick Russell, Barry Goldwater who would have believed such a fantastic notion for longer than it took to empty a shot glass of bourbon. Politics was then thought of as the art of the possible, not the fruitless.
Nevertheless, it took two parties to trash this particular ballroom with the invaluable encouragement of the President of the United States, his favorite response to suggestions being, would you kindly shut up? Or would you just plain shut up?
Absent Obamas know-it-allness, matters would hardly have built to this pitch and intensity. From the start of his stewardship, the President seemed not to care that he was dealing with flesh-and-blood people on Capitol Hill, few of them in need of regular instruction from him as to their constitutional duties.
Obama, as we know by now, never...

Sen. Ted Cruz met with roughly 15 to 20 House Republicans for roughly two hours late Monday night at the Capitol Hill watering hole Tortilla Coast.
The group appeared to be talking strategy about how they should respond to a tentative Senate deal to reopen the government and raise the debt ceiling without addressing Obamacare in a substantive way, according to sources who witnessed the gathering. The Texas Republican senator and many of House Republicans in attendance had insisted on including amendments aimed at dismantling Obamacare in the continuing resolution that was intended to avert the current shutdown.
Sources said the House Republicans meeting in the basement of Tortilla Coast with Cruz were some of the most conservative in the House: Reps. Louie Gohmert of Texas, Steve King of Iowa, Jim Jordan of Ohio, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Raúl Labrador of Idaho, Steve Southerland of Florida, Mark Meadows of North Carolina, and Justin Amash of Michigan.
The group is a collection of members who have often given leadership headaches in recent years by opposing both compromise measures as well as packages crafted by fellow Republicans. And, it seems, leadership unwittingly became aware of the meetup.
While the dinner meeting was held in a private basement room, the group was spotted by Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who was dining with some other members, including Gregg Harper, R-Miss. McCarthy is a regular at the Capitol Hill watering hole, and a source said he seemed particularly interested in what the group was up to.

He is such an oracle. My favorite was, during the unprecedented 2008 crisis he says “in times like these, we must increase spending”, and went on to reward his cronies with federal largess.
Why does Murchison feel compelled to slam Ted Cruz? He certainly doesn’t give any reason.
I like “President Stompyfoot” better.
I thank God for Cruz... a man alone against Obama, well, not anymore... you see what Cruz has done is ignite a fire that will not be extinguished... while the rest of the Republicans murmur, “if only he had listened to us, and just let it fail”... but they can offer no guarantees, they only weasel around playing politics and protecting their elite status.
That argument has been exposed as bogus, and a scam because THE RINOS WANT OBAMACARE. Now, the sellouts are claiming that they can't stop Obamacare, even though it hasn't started. They were just buying time until the monster could be in place, and all their corporate sponsors will keep profiting.
Maybe in the DC fog they don't realize it, but the RINOs are through. They're the ones who play Judas. We know where Obama's at, and he can only be held back by people who stand as firm as he does.
“President Know-It-All”
When I was a kid, that was my career goal.
Yeah, but their filaments were already burned out.
Here, here... and huzzzah!
Hopefully a lot of light bulbs have been switched on.
Which light bulbs? The ones mandated by the government
at $2.50 each?
Then he continues: Obama, as we know by now, never aims for agreement; he aims for conquest. If you support his ideas, well and good; if you dont, youre a know nothing. Small wonder Obamacare passed Congress with nary a Republican vote. It was Obamas way or the highway and still is.
I think this writer needs to sit his RINO butt down and think his opinions through rationally before putting pen to paper.
