Exactly right...I have limited understanding of the metric system of measurement so I have to use a chart. In general conversation though I am lost.
Metric is essentially a foreign language to those born and raised (and educated) in America. When I listen to people on videos and TV programs talking about anything having to do with units of measure, and they start describing things in terms of metric, I begin mentally tuning out. They may as well be speaking Chinese to me.
