Dave Ramsey has been speaking financial sense to millions of people for years. He has taught Americans that credit is not the beautiful thing that banks and credit card companies have tried to make it out to be. He has taught Americans that spending more than you make is never a good idea. He has taught Americans that now is always the right time to fix your spending habits and get your financial house in order. A few days ago, Mr. Ramsey decided to share his wisdom with people of all political affiliations on how the Obamacare legislation would affect every American, no matter their political beliefs.

When it comes to Obamacare, the principle of “GIGO” applies in the most cruel and malicious possible way. Garbage goes in, badly decomposed garbage comes out. And it is not useful even as compost.
Ponzi schemes are benign in comparison.

But feel free to share your actual biblical arguments. If you have any. And no, “go read this guy’s best selling book” isn’t an answer any more than “go read Ramsey’s best selling book” would be to you.

Wow, when someone says that being Christian has something to do with any thing other than Christ... well we are fallen and we can let that whiz over our heads. But really that’s a slam dunk to answer.

Anyhow this is a grand distraction, and our dear e-s has such a big conspiratorial-theory axe to grind that he’s willing to quite obscure the actual work of the Lord which deserves to be admired wherever it happens, whatever the vehicle! Faulty theology or not, Ramsey finally just sliced and diced Obamacare in the realm of his demonstrated competence. This is Big. Hoo boy, the shoes are dropping worse than in Imelda Marcos’ closet.
We have created all kinds of altars to Baal within the church. I refer to this one as “Qualified Salvation”. If you are X or Y, even God can’t Save you.
For example, you cannot be Saved unless the King James Bible is used in the church. Nothing smells better on the altar than that King James incense.

The vast majority of people support Obamacare because they believe they are either getting it free or they are getting a government check for signing up for it. When people find out they have to pay, they are walking away.
These are people that can’t even keep the lights on. How are they going to pay for Obamacare?
And the penalty? Good luck getting that from them.
Not entirely true. I’ve seen more stories of people who can and are paying premiums now signing up to Obamacare to get subsidies so they don’t have to pay as much or pay anything anymore. Obama doesn’t juat want to redistribute wealth to the have-nots. He and the left want “income equality” for all. Which means as long as Obama thinks he can get enough money from the “rich,” a lot of people are going to get handouts whether they’re “poor” or not. This also helps buy votes for Democrats, and they need a bigger constituency than just the “poor.” So money will be spread around to higher and higher income groups.
I get ya there, Appy. The more mature I get in the faith, the more I trace Christ’s work all over the place... and denominations and theory mongers are like squat to the Lord. He’d rather they not be dividing us, but they do not stymie Him in the least. When I see things like meaningful Baptist/Catholic collaborations (pro-life causes in protest of the abortion murder plague seem to have a way of doing that in modern America) I know that there is someone bigger than ourselves orchestrating it.

In our country, politics and economics are based on observable and measurable reality, not one religion or another’s mythic beliefs. And we don’t need to turn off potential recruits to the conservative side of the aisle by performing a religious litmus test.
It bids better than fair to become a laughingstock. Well, the GOP was wise to touch it not with a ten foot pole. If we had to depend on political brains we’d be lost. But I think the Lord sees the Democrats have pretty well purged out their serious Christians while the GOP hasn’t... and has made a decision from heaven, for now. Power will shift. Drastically.
But when the GOP benefits from being less-cursed... it needs to not get proud. And asking that of politicians is like asking water not to get wet.
I don’t know. Romans 13 says God put Obama in office. I don’t pretend to know the mind of God.

Well I can see some general patterns, and admit I am only making an educated spiritual guess based on the factors I can see. Both good and evil have momentum. However if they are granted anywhere like an equal footing, good will simply cream evil. What do you expect out of a contest of God vs. Satan? Anyhow, Obama is the result of American lassitude and laxity. God let it be punished, negatively to show that no, that’s not the thing to do, but positively to provide the resistance against which things like the Tea Party get their training. These are general patterns well supported by the bible; I’m not inventing anything new here.
