Some grocery and food shoppers who were trying to used government benefit cards to pay got a rude awakening on Saturday morning: their EBT cards were not working.
A check here in Central New York, however, showed that grocery chains were apparently unaffected.
We are being told that a technical services vendor (Xerox) had a power outage which did affect being able to pay with a benefits card in several states. As of early Saturday afternoon, the debit system was back up and the SNAP program was being rebooted, with expectations that all services would be back up shortly.

When they go to leave the confines of the inner city is when it will get REAL interesting. I envision it to be kinda like the Walking Dead show.....only it will be Walking Democrats instead. At that point, the political hacks will have lost control.
I envision it as Hurricane Katrina, except without all the wind and water. I wish I had television, so I could see Shep Smith standing by one of those abandoned shopping carts (chock full of tenderloin, frozen waffles, Cheetos, cookies and soda pop) crying his mascara off and asking where FEMA is before remembering to blame it on Ted Cruz and the "Republican shutdown".

That's funny but disturbing close to reality. I recall during Katrina that Geraldo was crying on-air and claiming that babies were starving/dying.

This is what someone called me about earlier, said Obama was shutting down food stamps. ReallY?

I just checked Twitter. OMG. The thugs and thugettes are convinced foodstamps are “cut off” for good and it’s spreading like wildfire.
Might we see our first riots before the end of the day? End of the weekend?

Don’t know. But for some reason the name Franz Ferdinand keeps echoing in my head..... ;-)

Some survivalist show (for what that’s worth) said that healthy humans can go over thirty days without food, as long as they have enough water. I’d bet a sizeable portion of the EBT Nation could go even longer.
