On a cold morning this past January in Gresham, Oregon, Aaron Klein sat down with two customers at the bakery he owned with his wife, Sweet Cakes by Melissa. The two women, a bride and her mother, were making plans to purchase a wedding cake. Before discussing the details, Klein asked his customers a few standard questions. When would the wedding be? What was the grooms name? At the second question, there was an awkward hesitation, and the mother explained that this would be a wedding between two brides. Klein politely but firmly told them that because of his and his wifes Christian beliefs, they would not bake a cake for a same-sex wedding. Without a word, the bride and her mother got up and left.
About ten minutes later, the brides mother returned to the bakery and began to debate Klein using biblical references to claim that her daughter was created that way and there was nothing wrong with her marriage. Klein was firm, asserting that he would not be involved in a lesbian wedding. When he refused to back down, the woman left. About two weeks later, Klein received a complaint letter and an official investigation notice from the Oregon Department of Justice.
It wasnt long before the Kleins story hit national media. They faced waves of harassment from gay rights sympathizers in the forms of mail, picketing, and social media pages dedicated solely toward boycotting their business.
They received death threats against their children. LGBT groups targeted other wedding vendors in the Gresham area, threatening to boycott them as well if they continued or agreed to do business with Sweet Cakes by Melissa.
People would keep calling [other wedding vendors] until they stopped doing business with us. Its racketeering is what it is, Aaron Klein told

Taste the rainbow....
Wonderful people these cross wires—instead of going to bakery that will bake a damn cake for their little ceremony, they’d rather force all to comply! You must comply!!
Rat-hole sh*t-heads.
Make the cake..... drive to the wedding..... when taking it out of vehicle.... Opps! It fall down go boom...Loose money, yes... Seeing their faces... priceless...

Nice to see LBBT types are tolerant of people who are different than they are... /s
Sounds reminiscent of the old-time “protection racket” that gangsters used to run. I swear to God, if any of these disease-ridden perverts tried this on me, I’d pull the trigger on them.
What’s needed is a standby BAD Christian who will drag the devil by her eyesockets out into the snow, break off a broomstick and make her into an LGBT scarecrow.
You don’t have to bake their cake, it’s a contract not slavery. People can pick and choose if they want to work on a project or not.
I’d bake ‘em a cake ... a Mexican sheetcake! (They’d probably rave about it.)
The culinary arts have become a gay industry - just check out the Food Network if you doubt me. No straight men and women need apply.
I took real offense when I was a tax accountant when someone changed to another tax preparer because of the political party I was a member of. How spiteful! How mean! And how sad, too. American used to be better.
I stand corrected.
LOL
I would have said that you couldn’t do the cake on that day. You found out after you asked the date that it was a lesbian wedding. I would have excused myself and told them, I have to check the calendar to see if we are available on that date. Then I would have come back and said, sorry. We can’t do the cake we have prior engagements.
That is how you handle it....just make sure you are not open on that date, prior engagement could be anything, like a mental health day to stay home, family get together, etc.
Ask the date, groom or bride’s name, then check your calendar...in that order.
Yep, exactly how to handle. Do not commit to any dates via phone. Tell them they have to fill out an application with date, name of groom and bride. More then one way to skin a cat...
My thoughts exactly. A little syrup of ipecac would make for a festive wedding cake and interesting wedding reception.
The mother tried to use the Word of God against this Christian baker. As you know, the devil twisted the Word against Adam and Eve and against Jesus.
Yep. Can even have an online application.
Insist on a firm, confirmed wedding date with proof of same from reception hall.
That way they can’t come back with, “Well, we’ll switch to such and such a date?”
And if they do that anyway, then the response is that a new application has to be filled out and no responses can be given until all are compiled.
I can only laugh at those who try to twist the bible into supporting homosexuality.
There simply is no case to be made.
Their best case is to go with those who toss out most books of the bible or those who toss the whole thing out. Because, if they go with what’s there, only an illiterate could come to a pro-homosexual conclusion.
This exactly the right way to do it. Take the order information and then respond based on scheduling demands.
Oregon is a microcosm of what has ruined America. The Persons Republic of Eugene has the votes and rules the entire state.
Eugene has a huge population of Libtards and queers beyond counting. Not surprisingly, Eugene and Big Sh*ty activists across America, are forcing queer politics on the non-queer population.
Eventually, the public will either arise and expel or kill off those who continually anger them OR America will become a hollow shell of what it once was.
ANgela Merkel understood when she said “Multi-culti ist tod.”
Either multi-culturalism (and ‘diverse perversion’) dies or America dies. The Germans understand the looming risk.
Do we?
Tomorrow does not look good.
