In an interview with Sports Spectrum magazine Willie & Phil Robertson, stars of the top-rated cable television show Duck Dynasty, discuss fake bleeps, and the A&E networks editing out when they pray in Jesus name.
When the producers of Duck Dynasty asked the stars to stop saying in Jesus name during prayers because it might offend Muslims, Phil Robertson stood his ground and gave an eye-opening response.
So they would just have me saying, Thank you Lord for the food, thank you for loving us. Amen. So I said, Why would you cut out In Jesus name? They said, Well those editors are probably doing that. They just think that they dont want to offend some of the Muslims or something.
Duck Dynasty - A&ESo I said, why would you cut out Jesus name? Robertson continued. And he said, well, those editors are probably doing that. They just think, you know, maybe it might offend some of the Muslims, you know.
I said, lets see now Robertson went on, I said, what year is it? And the editor finally answered, 2012″ (the time the conversation took place, apparently).
Robertson then said, 2012 A.D. Anno Domini. The year of our Lord. I said, you Hollywood cats are counting time from Jesus, just like I am. I would think that of all the people who walked the planet Earth, if weve all decided in America here to count time by just one of em, Jesus of Galilee, I just dont think it would hurt to throw his name in there from time to time.
Robertson said that the producers have left the name Jesus in the show since that conversation
So I notice now they are leaving it in there, but you got to remember, spiritual warfare, Robertson said. I mean you have people with no moral compass, it aint there.
Robertson also discussed the issue of fake bleeps earlier on in the interview with Sports Spectrum, a Christian sports publication.
Duck-Dynasty-CastThey inserted fake bleeps like somebody had used profanity, but no one had used profanity, Robertson said. I ask those guys that produce the show Whats the point of the fake bleeps?
Of course these people probably thought that there was some profanity going on which there was zero, Robertson continued. If were not using profanity, why make it look like were using profanity? What is the point? Why dont you just run it and say what we say?
Duck Dynasty has been a mega-hit for A&E, drawing 11.8 million viewers for the Season 4 premiere.
I miss the good old A&E that ran good things and the NBC reruns.
Phil Robertson for President, a REAL Man with REAL Sense!
Tell them to piss off and to remove the fake bleeps or they walk. This show is such a moneymaker for A&E they’d be fools to dump it and other networks would jump to snatch it up.
They need to discuss all these things the producers are doing on O’Reilly or with Rush to set the record - and these bozo producers - straight.
In fact, they should have done so immediately after the fake bleeps and the clipping out of Jesus’ name happened.
You gotta watch these azzhats every second.
So what? Muslims in the U.S. are as numerous as homosexuals, and since you Duck guys are straight, they are offended. Who cares?
They worry about offending the muslim 0.01% of viewers but dont care about offending the 95% of Christians with shows celebrating perverts, using offensive language, ridiculing Christians openly, etc. Yeah right.
It’s NOT about offending Muslims, its the producers and network types that are offended by hearing Jesus’s name. They hate it like Holy Water on a vampire.
Did you ever leave the land of the midnight beer?
...and Si as press secretary?
I was thinking Duck Dynasty and "Double Divas" might be more fun.
Defense Secretary, of course! (And the slick yuppie brother can be Secretary of State. We'll let Mountain Man handle meetings with Harry Reid and his ilk.)
Not to change the subject, but the 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS was one of the best cars ever.
People from Hollywood were concerned that mentions of Jesus might offend MUSLIMS, huh..?
Oh, man, now that is RICH..!
I will bet 1 or 2 actually believed that, too.
Agree, way to go Phil...
Duck Dynasty Salute!!!!! It’s even popular in Colombia...take that liberal scums!
I believe Jesus is a prophet to Muslims.
I’ve never watched the program but I like these guys. And A&E can’t do anything about it (aren’t they owned by NBC?) since they are it’s largest audience show.
At 16 I got a used 1965 Pontiac Catalina. Not dissimilar to the Impala.
Muslims aren’t going to watch Duck Dynasty. They should go wild hog hunting.
