S&P futures are now over 15 points off the day's highs, as it seems equity investors were hoping for a Cumbaya moment after the White House meeting today. However, as Bloomberg reports,

Why doesn’t Boehner hold a presser and say: We Republicans have repeatedly offered to compromise, and offered specific continuing resolutions. The POTUS has consistently refused to negotiate. When and if the president wants this resolved by holding meaningful negotiations he can call me at the Capitol’s switchboard #(202)xxx-xxxx, as millions of Americans have in the past 10 days. Or Americans can call to demand the POTUS negotiate at the White House (202)xxx-xxxx.
