A new NFL security policy bars off-duty police officers from carrying their guns into football games. Although it is normal for police officers to carry a gun 24/7--in case they come face to face with a criminal whom they had arrested and who may have revenge on his mind--the NFL says police who are not specifically assigned to work the game are not allowed to carry their guns.

Why don’t the cops hired to work the games just refuse the work as long as this stupid policy is in place?
In Texas LEO’s are not required to carry by state law. However they do have a duty to always protect anyone in need. My former Agency required me to carry, and State law allowed me to carry anywhere except in air planes without the pilot’s permission.
We cannot carry into the Stadium. What makes them special?
When they are off duty, they are regular people, N'est Pas?
“Besides why go to a game when if football is your thing a 40+ tv is better anyway?”
Bingo. In fact, the NFL attendance is suffering because of all the issues you list. Let it suffer.
Not suprise
Who is NFL Commish

I wonder if they thought to make it a rule saying CRIMINALS are not allowed to bring guns either...
After all that seems ‘fair’
Did they also ban criminals from bringing guns?
or just off-duty police
The NFL should concentrate more on buying seeing eye dogs for its referees.
Sitting ducks,, by design.
Thanks, Nfl.. I’ll watch a re-run of sumthin’.
In Texas all LEO’s have a duty to always protect those in need. If the LEO is not carrying and some dirt bag threatens a citizen with a gun, the LEO still must protect.
Can they still carry motorcycle helmets?
Privately owned property trumps the 2nd amendment...and I have never heard of requiring cops to carry off duty...only strongly encouraged...
Most stadiums are publicly owned and many States have laws prohibiting such a thing.
I guess what the Negros, Felons, and Liberals organization is saying is that they don’t want off duty cops identifying a player as a wanted fugitive and using force to apprehend them.
“When they are off duty, they are regular people, N’est Pas? “
Not entirely. Most States do not let cops just be private people off duty. They have a duty to become involved and therefore are on duty 24x7.
No. They just create regulations for the rest of us to follow and criminals are on the honor system, expected to follow laws/regulations previously broken.
It's like banning guns in National Parks: Do predators care if politicians pass laws banning bear attacks on humans?
If criminals followed all laws, police wouldn't have to carry guns, now would they?
I’m amazed that people still go to the games. Overpriced tickets and concessions.... Much more comfy at home.
Is anyone surprised?
I’ve had it with the NFL.
Pinkification!
This will come to a showdown somewhere bank on it.
