NEWBURYPORT — Pat Vaillancourt went on a trip last week that was intended to showcase some of America’s greatest treasures.

Instead, the Salisbury resident said she and others on her tour bus witnessed an ugly spectacle that made her embarrassed, angry and heartbroken for her country....

For many hours her tour group, which included senior citizen visitors from Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States, were locked in a Yellowstone National Park hotel under armed guard.

I called my ohio congressman, .......Asked him if he was aware if the Yellowstone situation, he said, “no”. I said, “you should be because park rangers locked people in their hotel and surrounded it with armed rangers. I then read him key points of the article. I requested a response by the end of the day, I demanded to know what is being done about it. I wanted Stivers made personally aware of it and wanted a personal response from him.

It is the parable of a frog in hot water. Ten years ago, if the feds had stood up and enacted or admitted all these things at once - NSA spying, government controls on travel, fast 'n furious, letting Muslims kill ambassadors, infringements and attacks on the entire Bill of Rights, etc. we would have marched on DC and demanded accountability, prosecution, and removal from office. That is not just from the Executive Branch but many from Congress too. But gradually, we have watched our freedoms and liberties eroded. It is sickening.

And yes, I believe there is a huge political element to this - not just a primal lust for power and control. If former President Bush had done half the things obama has done the liberals and MSM's heads would've exploded.

Looks like following orders (even if they are plainly illegal) comes natural to a lot of people.

Yes. They are afraid of their co-workers and superiors. They are afraid of losing what little they have. Fear and intimidation are powerful motivators. It takes a lot of backbone and conviction to stand up to it.

Excellent analogy. Plus the NPS, by accepting the bus company’s $300 entrance fee is guilty of a breach of contract for denying normal access for which the fee was paid. In a normal lawful society, the NPS would not only be liable to refund the fee, but for at least a portion of the travel expenses of everyone on the bus.
