A top House Republican says in an upcoming interview that the chamber will take up immigration reform in 2013, insisting that “there’s still time” for a comprehensive rewrite despite the rapidly dwindling time left on this year’s calendar.

Washington Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, the chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, said during an interview with Univision’s “Al Punto” that top leaders are still discussing when to bring immigration bills to the House floor.

Speaker John Boehner “over the last few weeks has continued to talk about the importance of the House moving forward on immigration reform,” McMorris Rodgers said, according to a transcript provided by Univision.

Thank you for the ping. That’s an outstanding, and straight to the point email you sent her. Good job!

I’ve long believed that McMorris-Rodgers is being groomed for the speakership. She’s become Boehner’s shadow, always at his right hand when he’s behind the podium. She began her political career sounding like a conservative. But after a few years in DC, she’s just a Boehner mini-me. She needs to GTFO! I will be emailing her today, too.

We don’t seem to be able to elect a conservative here in WA State. Even the occasional Republican turns out to be a RINO.

I doubt it’s a simple question of raising ‘their’ taxes, it’s more a question of eliminating the favored status of big businesses that are bed with the government.

All that crony capitalism destruction has to be stopped.

I think that is the key to resolving crony capitalism. Making them realize that nothing is free and making them pay for it. What is happening i frankly their fault. This Is the class of people that own the media. Either they are all Democrats or the wealthy Republicans are completely feckless. Again the more we lower their taxes the more liberal and Democrat they become.

Hasn’t Congress done enough damage this year?

The more we lower their taxes, the more they vote democrat? The business owners or the low info voters?

I pretty confident that the way wealthy business owners vote, when involved with politics through lobbies, is to vote with the party that is giving you what you are asking...so I’m guessing there are as many that vote right as do left.

As for the general population, too many have no desire to learn and understand who is pulling the strings, and again, are going to migrate to whoever is ‘giving’ them something. There lays the crux of the issue, look back at the 80’s with welfare reform, when the economy was healthy and the slugs were not ‘given’ so much for nothing...things shifted and with some forthright messaging, even the least interested can learn how things work. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for your response. But low info voters rely on the MSM for their news. The news is completely dominated by lib’s as everyone on this board knows. Either the wealthy class is all left or rich Republicans are very feckless, and I mean very feckless. It is true that the upper 6% gives disproportionately to the GOP but it is also true that the upper 1% give more to the Dem’s. Hence, the affluent vote Republican and the rich vote Dem. The wealthiest neighborhoods(Beverly Hills, Manhattan, Chicago gold coast etc) are overwhelmingly Democrat. Thier are very rich Republicans but they seem to be looking after their own pocket book and nor for conservative principles. They ar now flooding the phones calling up GOP congressmen to jump off the cliff and promote amnety and tear down all immigration enforcement. They are obviusly like the people who killed the golden goose very greedy. They prove Lenins's dictum that the capialist class will sell the rope to their own hanging. I think if we are going to have a chance we need to make them pay for it.

Very true, I agree. Seems something is stirring, not sure what exactly, but something is changing.

What an empty pantsuit she is. Disgraceful that she is in leadership.

I did a search on FR because I heard she is the response to the State of the Union tomorrow night. I am shocked that nothing is mentioned about this. She is pretty conservative. The college she went to sounds like a Taliban Training Camp. VERY STRICT!
