For those unaware, the cache of the above site gives the following description of the AMBER Alert system:
The AMBER Alert™ Program is a voluntary partnership between law-enforcement agencies, broadcasters, transportation agencies, and the wireless industry, to activate an urgent bulletin in the most serious child-abduction cases. The goal of an AMBER Alert is to instantly galvanize the entire community to assist in the search for and the safe recovery of the child.
…unless, of course, there’s a government shutdown and the President doesn’t want to admit that the House of Representatives has control over the purse strings. Then I guess it’s hope that the kids come back on their own, like pets or something; either way, the Feds are just going to be over there, washing their hands of the whole situation.

PS: As noted here, via this program the Department of Justice is supposed to coordinate on a national level the various programs used in all of the states (and DC). This means that – thank God – states can still put the word out on abduction cases; unfortunately, this boneheaded decision is likely to degrade national coordination methods. Besides, I personally think that keeping that program operating at peak efficiency is just a little more important than soothing Barack Obama’s and Harry Reid’s wounded egos.
Between this and Harry Reid's comment about not helping children with cancer this should make it very clear to the American people that these people don't give a damn about this nation's children. They're just another object to use to advance their agenda.

Consider the emotions today of all those Federal Employees who have young children.
They are not going to be happy, happy, happy with Barry’s AG Eric Holder for stopping the National AMBER ALERT Program over the weekend.
Surely, Mr. Fast and Furious Holder thought this Amber Alert cancellation through and made an exception of Michelle Obama’s children?
BTW, I wonder if Barry, General of the Senate Harry “Mean Ol’ Guy” Reid, and Colonel of her former self Nancy “Always in a fog” Pelosi realize that other Federal employees ALSO have young children that need to be protected by the National Amber Alert Program?
BTW, BTW, the boy-toy, wanna-be dictator Barry Soetoro, aka Mr. Michelle Obama, COULD order his personal Corporate Jet, Air Force One, to be mothballed, by Executive Order, of course. (He must have a few blank EO forms lying around his empty chair, or his Golf bag - - - ).
That simple gesture just might, could, show that Barry also “feels our pain.”
Barry could also BARRYCADE his own personal Golf Course, BARRYCADE the Oceans, only on Federal land, of course. (Governors are so touchy these days about their State’s shorelines)!
Which is more important? Camp David or Amber Alert?
This is more evidence that the federal government does too much. Time to give much of it back to the states.
