Chris Matthews appeared on “The Colbert Report” Wednesday night to promote his new book, “Tip and the Gipper,” saying that it’s going to be hard for President Obama to beat Ronald Reagan’s legacy.
“Do you think Reagan was a better president than Obama is?” Stephen Colbert asked the MSNBC host.
“In the end, yes,” Mr. Matthews responded. “In the end. Because he ended the Cold War.
“That’s hard to beat,” he said, adding that he believes the government shutdown “is going to go on weeks.”
The pundit also took a jab at Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly. Mr. Colbert asked Mr. Matthews why he didn’t name his book “Killing Tip and the Gipper, referencing O’Reilly’s books “Killing Lincoln,” “Killing Kennedy” and “Killing Jesus.”

Chrissy who? Oh, Crissy ‘tingly leg’ Mathews! Is he still ‘reporting’ news? I thought he retired long ago when he realized that no one ever listened to him! If there ever was a reporter that carried water for Barry, it was/is Chrissy.

Don’t get to enthusiastic about statements made when selling a book. They will say anything to entice you to buy it.
Except Crissy will turn right around in 2016 and declare Hillary the only person capable of getting the nation out of the mess it is in.
Actually, measuring Obama against prior Presidents is the wrong criteria. It’s not that Obama is a bad President; it is that he is an enemy agent. In that he has been spectacularly successful.
If we could get enough people calling Obama “President Camacho....”
Or any other president, with the possible exception of FDR, who did more damage because he was in office longer. Obama has about 3 more years to go yet, we'll see if he can match Roosevelt.
Sadly, my 93 year old mother is still a "Roosevelt democrat". There's no reasoning with her, I just go ahead and love her anyway.
I could care less what opinions Matthews has. He’s a loud-mouth blow-hard and a hater. One small comment about Reagan won’t change anything.
Did you miss the part where he's written a book?
