Ted Cruz - Intellect on Display - Cruz on CNN State of the Union
October 6, 2013 | Ralph Mitchell

Posted on 10/06/2013 6:44:49 AM PDT by mitchell001

On today's CNN State of the Union, Sen.Ted Cruz was simply "Intellect on Display" as he seemlessly won every debate point with host Candy Crowley. I say we support Ted Cruz all the way to the Presidency.

This truly is a perfect storm- because I am sure there are polls out there for Graham, Boehner, and Mcconnell that show they are in trouble for reelection.
One key thing is that they need to hold out long enough for people to get on the Healthcare website and see just how bad it is going to be for them.

I’m all for Cruz but I listen to Rush every chance I get. Seems Cruz’s filibuster is a lot of what Rush says daily. Good it got to the senate, politicians need a kick in the pants but let’s make no mistake, without the Republican controlled House of Representatives, we would be nowhere.

Can you provide proof that the House of Representatives would have voted for Obamacare? Forget Boehner in this case, the rest of the House, Gohmert, Bachmann, still voted to defund. The Senate just has a speech that isn’t even a real filibuster.

Is there any Constitutional law barring ex-Presidents from being appointed to SCOTUS?

Who rallied the people to put pressure on the House?

Who gathered 2 million signatures on a petition to defund Obamacare, when the conventional wisdom was that defunding was an impossible, quixotic task?

Aside from Lee, who was the only spokesman for the effort in its infancy? Even Rand was squishy.

Boehner wanted to cave. Ted made it impossible.

I think enormously well of Ted Cruz. But, you can’t make a comparison to Reagan. It’s kind of like comparing Hank Aaron after his breakout year in 1957 to Babe Ruth. Here’s what I will say about Cruz: He is showing us, right now, he can hold his own in the national spotlight. In contrast, think of Marco Rubio. Back in 2012, wasn’t he everybody’s choice for Vice President (well, except Mitt Romney). And, yet, what happened to him when the national spotlight was put on him? He wilted. Cruz, on the other hand, he showing that he has the potential to be a great communicator. He might not have the dulcid tone that Reagan possessed, but the guy is off-the-scale brilliant and quick-witted. In these interviews, he is like a Grand Master in chess thinking three or four moves ahead of you. And, when he speaks to an audience without a teleprompter, he like an NFL offensive lineman going sleeveless to show off his muscles.

Yes. The timing is perfect. Time is on our side. All we have to do is stand firm.

“Who rallied the people to put pressure on the House?”

So we are to believe you that Cruz got the House to vote down Obamacare when the Senate could only muster 19 votes??

Do you keep up with the news?? The House has voted countless times to defund Obamacare before Cruz. Besides, you are asserting Cruz did this, only an assertion, no real proof.

If you want to say Cruz at 42, let’s look at Governor Scott Walker who is the same age.

Stared down the Unions for the People, saved Wisconsin millions, Signed into Law numerous pro-life bills, keeping national land open in Wisconsin. Same age.

You are saying a lot of things, you don’t have proof of.

Bachmann was touting her bill defunding Obamacare that passed the house 3 months ago. The House is conservative, again, the Senate had only 19 votes.

Cruz led a movement in the Senate, last I saw Obamacare is still in effect.

Absolutely. You can't compare them directly until Ted's career is over. But if you compare them at the same age, 42 (!), Ted compares favorably.

I'm certainly not diminishing Reagan in any way. Reagan had a steeper mountain to climb, back in the day, having to fight the Ruskies and a hostile media, without the help of the interwebs or talk radio.

OTOH, we tend not to see the great moments in history, and greatness of historical figures, until they have passed from the scene.

Back in the day, I loved Reagan, but I didn't see him as the herculean figure that we now understand him to be. Similarly, I remember thinking at the time, "I wonder if we'll look back at the Reagan/Thatcher era as a high-water mark for America and Britain." I don't think anyone wonders about that now.

So I'm just saying, let's not wait 25 years to fully appreciate Ted. We have a giant walking amongst us.

Scott Walker supports Illegal Alien Amnesty....and the discussion ends there. Walker also never cut and reduced salaries of executive and adminstrative govt jobs (where govt spending is most excessive). Ted Cruz would make a much better President than squishy Walker

This isn't a mathematical proof. You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I'm just giving you my estimation of the man.

Let’s look at Governor Scott Walker who is the same age. Stared down the Unions for the People, saved Wisconsin millions, Signed into Law numerous pro-life bills, keeping national land open in Wisconsin. Same age.

All good. Great, actually. And yet he publicly rejected shutting down the government to defund Obamacare.

Cruz has an unique quality...cutting to the chase and laying out the enemy at the same time.

I look forward to him becoming pres. He will overcome his enemies..the ones in the open and those slithering behind.

The establishment Republicans didn’t want him to win his Senate seat. I bet they will support with RNC money a primary challenger his next election.

We need to get the establishment republicans out before they can hurt the TEA party republicans more.

May, 2013, Bachmann’s bill to repeal Obamacare, it passed the House:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3017283/posts

So we are to believe while only 19 votes in Cruz’s Senate voted to defund Obamacare, he got the House too???

Yeah, right.

“Bachmann: Shut Down Obamacare, Not the Government”

http://bachmann.house.gov/press-release/bachmann-shut-down-obamacare-not-government

None of this would have been possible without the House and the House has voted numerous times in the past already to defund/repeal Obamacare.

I hope he filibusters this mess again in the coming weeks. I have a good part of his speech already written. Just start reading the 10,500 plus pages of ObamaDon’tcare regulations from start to finish.

Cruz buried in the Supreme Court and Hillary in the WH appointing Lefties to the SC. What a waste of a patriot, imho.
