The musician-turned-activist reckons the world will end in 2030 - leading to the extinction of humankind.
Sir Bob, 61, based his miserable prediction on the effects of climate change.
“The world can decide in a fit of madness to kill itself," he told a group of youngsters at a summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
“We may not get to 2030. We need to address the problem of climate change urgently” Sir Bob Geldof The former Boomtown Rats singer also warned "the next war will not be a World War One or a World War Two, it will be the end."
He added: "We may not get to 2030. We need to address the problem of climate change urgently."
Sir Bob is best-known for his attempts in helping to fight famine in Africa, staging Live Aid at Wembley Stadium in 1985.
He finished his speech by apologising for being "bloody miserable", but added: "just get on with it".
I read his book “Life”, the guy, despite all the drugs, is pretty sharp.

Yeah, but it's such a pretty tune. Maybe we need to rework it with some conservative lyrics. I know lots of things I would like to imagine being without in this world. :)

I loved Keef's book. The introduction says: "Believe it or not, I remember it all."
And he does.
Slightly O/T, I see on Wikipedia that Bob Geldof is worth 1.2 billion dollars.
How did he get so rich? That's more than Paul McCartney had pre-divorce.
And besides his looniness on climate change, he's made some rather shockingly "conservative" political statements that have outraged his liberal supporters.
Must be from all the royalties for "I Don't Like Mondays." ;)
If you are talking about the Navy Yard shooting. Twelve died besides the shooter. He was hearing voices and had talked with someone about that. Also he had had two incidents of unsafe actions with a gun. Seems to me someone(s) were missing red or at least orange flags. Then there was the crazy woman in the car with her baby. I’m still waiting to hear more about that and whey she had some overseas type travel documents with her.
