On Thursday, the government's official Obamacare Facebook page was riddled with people expressing sticker shock over the government's high cost premiums after struggling for hours to wade through the technical failures vexing Obamacare exchanges all across the country.
"I am so disappointed," wrote one woman. "These prices are outrageous and there are huge deductibles. No one can afford this!" The comment received 169 "likes."
"There is NO WAY I can afford it," said one commenter after using the Kaiser Subsidy Calculator. "Heck right now I couldn't afford an extra 10$ [sic] a month...and oh apparently I make to [sic] much at 8.55/hour to get subsidies."

IMO, this is exactly what the Obster and Reid were trying to avoid with their clean bill push. Wouldn’t put it past the regime to have purposely hosed up the roll out to keep the negative comments to a minimum.
I cannot verify this but I suspect that if they've defaulted on their student loans, the dept of edumacation will seize the subsidy as they do refunds, or some portion thereof.
Your post is incorrect.
The subsidy is applied up front.
“you will receive a tax credit that can be applied immediately toward your health insurance premium”

you post:
“I would be willing to bet that there will be hundreds of scam front operations that will look like real websites that just want your personal info, bank account numbers, ss numbers, etc. and will empty your accounts to Nigeria before you get off the computer................”
Pretty safe bet

I’d like to see a poll of those who supported this mess...
Now they’ve had a taste of what government-infested health care is about, do you change opinion of Obamacare and those who legislated it?
There already are scams....The hacker sites were and will be be fully debugged and operational long before the Gov. has there’s bugs and flops figured out. It’s ripe right now for hackers ....and any who sign up now or later.

Navigators have not been screened for issues......’Obama’s PRISONERS back to work program’ will be allowed to be HIRED AS NAVIGATORS......NO BACKGROUND CHECKS for anyone.....So you could have felon taking the information and no one would know it....for that matter any foreighner can be bought and send your information to the Nigeria Groups hankering to take your money.
Government’s ...”ENROLL AMERICA” PRIVACY STATEMENT IN A NUT SHELL:

....We reserve the right ‘at any time’ and... ‘without notice ....to change this Privacy Policy simply by posting such changes on our site. Any such change will be effective immediately upon posting.
Additionally....
The HITECH Act ‘doesn’t require encryption’. It does require health care providers to notify their patients and HHS immediately in the event of a large security breach — ONLY IF the data wasn’t protected by encryption methodology approved by the HHS....
In other words, rather than requiring health providers to use encryption, the federal government is enticing them to use it with the promise of looser transparency requirements....
Further....if a patient’s information is breached, he DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO SUE the responsible party (under HIPAA )for violating his privacy,.....
If your information is sent without encryption, it can be read BY ANYONE with access to internet traffic at the Internet Service Provider.
See post 86....another guy in the Industry spoke about this...
The subsidy actually is applied at the time of the monthly premium payment, unless you specify otherwise.
So if you qualify for a subsidy you never have to pay the full premium amount.
I understand that is only for the first year.....thereafter you pay it fully and up front for it’s considered a tax credit and the system will not be able to do this beyond a year...if that.
That’s going to change after the first year if not before...which is why [eople need to be aware of what goes beyond the first year....and not to forget Obama already took upon himself to exempt companies etc....he will change this as well...
Would appreciate a link on that.
Thanks!
Remember when they were in the backrooms putting this beast together? I can vaguely recall those who were doing this...and that’s where it was determined what would be what.
No link...it’s from one who is in the field as I stated above and conversation I had with....
Might want to check the section that references subsidies in the Obama law itself...I believe it’s online to access...that would put it to rest one way or the other as there is confusion at how long that will be deducted from the premium.
Here’s this which might be helpful I;m looking for clarification on this now....hard to get right answers as we all know.
Anyone earning more than $45,960 would be responsible for the entire tab on the Obamacare health plan of his choice.
Their subsidy level is ‘adjusted’ once they file a tax return with their actual income for the year, so in many cases they may have to repay some of the subsidy if they underestimated or get a refund if they thought they’d earn more than they actually did.

I see nothing in here:
That indicates the “premium assistance tax credit” changes after year 1.

WHOA!
Thank you so much, caww.
0bamaCare is a dead law walking.
Wayne Allen Root had an interesting column the other day...not sure I completely agree with it, but the fallout would be interesting...
Your field contact is making stuff up or pulling your leg.
I wish FReepers would refrain from scaring other FReepers with bogus information.
The factual situation is bad enough to contemplate without inventing stuff.
The fact that certain FReepers are unbelievably gullible (witness the bogus email posted repeatedly yesterday — and the “WOW” and “Oh, My God” comments in response) doesn’t help.
