It's a small sign with a big message, but Bartow residents are now being ordered to uproot their "God Bless America" yard signs.
About 300 of the signs were handed out at First Baptist Church of Bartow following a Fourth of July sermon. But three months later, City of Bartow Code Enforcement says the temporary signs have worn out their welcome.
Residents have three days to pack it up or pay a minimum fine of $25 a day.
"Being a veteran, I felt like I was just kicked in the gut. I couldn't believe it, that I couldn't display my love for my nation by putting a sign up that says "God Bless America," Bartow resident Marcus Seger said Thursday.
Bartow Code Enforcement says its temporary sign ordinance dates back 13 years and already allows for some exceptions.

Nope. You can hang whatever sign you want on your own f-—ing property. Don’t remove ANYTHING and REFUSE to pay a fine.

Don’t be too home sick. I don’t doubt one bit that it’s happening in Texas also. I live in Texas and am not surprised at anything anymore. That is why I want to invite people to my state, but realize they bring their crap with them. We recently had a court case on kids reading the Koran in school and another for the cheerleaders writing Bible verses on paper for the football team to run through. So far we have won both cases, but for how much longer?
Headline is wrong. They have already banned all ssuch signs regardless of message. They’re just enforcing the ban on this flurry of signs that happen to have this message.
Relax folks!
If all the residents with the signs refused to remove them and refused to pay the fine, things would change. Most people will just remove them though. And therefore, nothing will change.
Time to take America back, going to have to start at ground roots. Start by taking back every city office that comes up for election. Then reverse all laws that takes freedom back. If you can recall, do it.

I fled due to an influx of Bill Whites “katrina refugees”, but am dismayed that good Tex-Mex and chicken fried steak with cream gravy is not available here!
Ordinances like that (mostly about election signs) have gone to court in Wisconsin and the cities have LOST. It’s called freedom of speech!
I have a “Keep Christ in Christmas” sign from the Knights of Columbus that I put up around Thanksgiving and keep it up until the frozen ground softens enough for me to get it out in the spring. I’ve used it for about 8 years.
