Republican strategist Karl Rove, writing in The Wall Street Journal's opinion pages Wednesday, warned that "the public is increasingly impatient, even enraged, with Washington's dysfunction."
He implied that senate Republican tactics are politically hard to defend, and urged GOP congressional leaders to be ready to hit the ground running for the bigger fight ahead: the debt-ceiling vote.
In advance of that October 17 deadline, Rove advocated having "a serious debt-ceiling plan ready quickly." Otherwise, he warned Democrats led by President Obama and, alluding to Tea Party stalwarts, "a faction within the GOP's own ranks can whipsaw the party."
Rove made this stark warning: "Whoever misplays the debt-ceiling debate" could suffer "enduring political damage."

Treacherous, traitorous Bastard!
Debts have to be paid, the ‘debt ceiling fight’ is a loser- as he well knows.
BTW, I don’t know if you know it or not, but your approach sounds more like Karl Roves approach, than a conservative approach.
Too much strategy, on your part, can lose the battle.
For Karl’s part, having no principle, is what makes him a loser.
Ughhh..someone please muzzle Karl McCain!
Dems are enraged who are the only people they care about. He has a hard time defending Repubs just like he did with Bush and how did that turn out?
Pray America is Waking Up
Next target... the ones funding and hiring Karl Rove....
...Bush who bankrupted our nation...

I disagree with that. The Dems took over the Senate and House in 2006 and for the next two years of Bush’s term drove us deeper and deeper into debt. The Dems had the votes to override any veto Bush tried.
Get your head out of the Beltway echo chamber and smell the fresh air, Karl. What’s happening out here in flyover country isn’t rage, it’s a majority disapproval of 0bamacare and a chuckling disdain for our “betters” in DC. Three days in and we’re already hearing shrieks of starvation. We have it a lot worse out here, Karl. We don’t care.
The “Architect” knows that using the debt ceiling as leverage would be too dangerous and much more vulnerable to a “cave”. Risk may be real, or not, but most GOP congressmen won’t risk immediate economic collapse.
But he likely thinks caving is good politics.
Correct. The Dems had full control from 2006 forward.
They own the mess and they seem to enjoy it.
Folks that support Dems are either idiots or scabs.
Many are just idiots and are politically ignorant.
Don’t listen to the buggy whip maker.
Hardly. This fat tub of crap who looks like a little troll doll is WRONG about everything. It was HIS dense idea to float the ‘delay for a year’ nonsense. IF he was worth a damn, he’d of been showing the way on how to shut this whole damn barrycare unconstitutional garbage, down, for the past 4 freakin years!
As others have stated, there is NO anger out here, only in the beltway of government dependents. Oh yea, and the lazy EBT freaks. Most people are enjoying a sigh of relief, that this dysfunctional government has stopped for a moment.
The anger is at the man child trying to deny WWII Vets from going to their memorials. And closing everything else the little twit can muster up.
Rove is out of his element, he hasn’t a clue what REAL people are thinking, feeling, or willing to do to stop this sinking ship.
My disgust for him and his fake bullcrap, knows no bounds. If we were united, we’d all hit him up on his stupid twitter account and shut him up.
Mr. Adelman in Las Vegas and the Koch Brothers among others..........
It’s just Newsmax’s tabloid hype.
Yawn...
First..FUKR. But the point is what will 0bama do?
We all know the debt ceiling will be raised...not really a way out on this till conservatives have the WH and all of congress.
So what’s the plan folks?
Shut up, Rove.
We are still trying to recover from the “compassionate conservatism” that he and dos Bushes helped to usher in...the “RINO” hoard.
“The Dems had the votes to override any veto Bush tried.”
The last few years of the Clinton Administration saw budget surpluses. Bush never ran a surplus. For six years of the Bush administration there was no veto proof Dem majority, deficits were running at increasingly high rates and Bush’s veto pen was in his pocket. Had he been responsible and sustained the government surpluses by using his veto to reign in spending during his first six years he would have had the credibility with the American people to use the veto effectively with dem majorities.
The reason the Dems won control of both houses in 2006 was Bush’s poor leadership on many fronts. His failure to reign in spending from the beginning was one of many leadership failures.
Even if you ignore all of the above, you imply that Bush didn’t use his veto the last two years because the Dems had a veto proof majority. The test of a real leader is what he or she does when the odds against him or her are high. The individual who does nothing is not a leader.
We are seeing this play out in Washington today. Cruz is fighting almost the entire Washington establishment and having some success rallying the American people against the power of the federal government, the press, the Presiden’s bully pulpit, the leadership of his own party and the Dems. Cruz displays the courage in fighting the political opposition Bush never displayed.
Bush did set the stage for Obama and the reckless spending of today. He made many bad decisions, he failed to fight his political opponents, and his poor performance resulted in both the Democrat Congessional victories in 2006 and the election of Obama in 2008. Had he been an effective leader and fighter, this nation would likely be in a different and better place.
They created the mess to sabotage Bush and it worked with the help of the Journolists.
