Mount Vernon is open. Our parking lots are now open. The barricade was placed in front of Mount Vernons parking lots for a short period (less than 3 hours). Once the National Park Service realized that we own the parking lots, the barricades were removed immediately.
Anything you can do to help get the word out that Mount Vernon and its parking lots are open would be much appreciated!
This is unreal. The govt is shut; but they find money to go out and block off popular destinations that THEY DON’T CONTROL for NO REASON other to anger people.
Symbolic in many ways that this happens at George Washingtons home.
We all know what his opinion would be.
Ted Cruz and his ilk ought to seize on the symbolism of these Barrycades and the lessons held behing them. Barry Obama does not know what freedom is about. He thinks government insurance is what America is about.
I wish he'd just close down the Department of Education and stop funding AlQaida in Syria.
One just knows emails went out directing these minions to put up these barricades to punish the serfs. I’d love to see the content of one of those emails get leaked.
And I'll bet almost none of them have the proper college degrees or political connections. No wonder it is so well run.
The Mount Vernon Ladies have chapters in all 50 states.
The Obama administration tried to bully the Wisconsin DNR into closing STATE forests, since they received a small amount of federal money. Wisconsin said, “hell no” and the forests are still open.
The feds even barricaded a boat launch and the state removed the barricades.
It’s just so blatant. Even Clinton didn’t try to barricade things during the 1995 shutdown.
Yeehaw. Thanks for the ping!
It’s flat out crazy really.
Its Barrycade
The Barrycade claims it’s first victim...
