Early Thursday morning, Potomac Research Group analyst Greg Valliere predicted that if the debt-ceiling deadline grew closer, President Barack Obama would play his "trump card" in the debate. He would remind seniors that if Congress doesn't raise the debt ceiling, seniors wouldn't get their Social Security checks.
"GOP strategists like Karl Rove surely know that it's just a matter of time before President Obama throws a game-changer warning senior citizens that their Social Security checks won't be mailed because of John Boehner," Valliere wrote in a note to clients.

Obamacare is the vehicle to get the Democrats more people to threaten.
- SENATOR BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA (MARCH 2006)
Yep, that was their plan all along.
Ex: "The Republicans won't agree to an 10% increase in Obamacare spending this year, that will mean the death panel...uhh I mean health care board... will no longer authorize any cancer treatment. Hey don't blame us democrats! We WANT your child, mother, wife to get treatment, but those evil Republican are blocking us"
For one thing, although the language of the amendment could be clearer, the 14th Amendment is generally understood to require application by the Federal Government of liquid resources to payment of interest and principle on the federal debt ahead of any other payee.
There is plenty of cash flow from tax revenues to pay all amounts due on the federal debt.
As to other amounts normally paid, there may be some room for concern. But as to default, that is not going to happen no matter what happens to the debt limit.
The actual situation is that Congress and the Administration need to reduce spending to the amount of tax revenue.
Ryan's budgets don't do that either. They are structured to reduce the current account fiscal deficit to 2% of GDP--that will have the effect of adding a trillion dollars to the debt every three years. That won't fly either.
Bottom line facts are that the US does not produce sufficient economic utility (true GDP) to provide for funding all the things we want to spend money doing. So we have got to reduce what we spend money on.
“But how can that be? Isnt that money in a SPECIAL TRUST FUND, with just MY name on it??”
An example of the generational lies the Democrats have pimped, that the US Media never DARED to question.

Half-true
The directive to not pay social security is Obama’s death warrant.
He dare not sign it
Well we all knew he would. I remember last time when Barry came on TV and said he could not guarantee that the SS checks would go out next month. What a crock.
He dare not sign it

You're probably right, but with his mental challenges, who knows what he will do?
Agreed.
Even Ubama’s sychophant “mainstream” Democrat newsrooms would be unable to help him pin it on Boehner.
Hopefully, the federal government stay closed until at least October 16th. Do not give in Republicans!
Granny ought to be scared
The regime is threatening their money and now has the power to deny them medical care based on their voting records.
Where’s the lock box?
Get the tar and feathers ready. The last thing Elmer Fudd definitely wants is millions of retired people marching on Versailles on the Potomac. Unless he has a death wish.
“Social Security is money that belongs to the contributors, not the government.”
Wrong. The current FICA withholding from me is used to pay current SS recipients. My children and grand children will have withholdings to pay for me.
There is no dedicated account for anyone paying the FICA withholding....
Somebody told me it's in Area 51.
That would be my first executive order...
“Social Security is money that belongs to the contributors, not the government.”
One more thing, when LBJ’s administration defended Soc Security at the USSC, they were successful because FICA was deemed a tax.
Sounds familiar.
BINGO
