Dr. Ben Carson: ‘I had my first encounter with the IRS’ after prayer breakfast with Obama
Washington Times ^ | 10/1/13 | By Douglas Ernst

Dr. Ben S. Carson went years without ever having a run-in with the Internal Revenue Service. But his good fortune changed after his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast in February, the former Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon said Monday night at an event with business leaders and elected officials in Alabama.

Alabama’s Yellow Hammer News tweeted Dr. Carson’s remarks from the annual Business Council of Alabama Chairman’s Dinner: “I had my first encounter with the IRS this year, unsurprisingly after the Prayer Breakfast.”

Nixon was impeached for high crimes and misdemeanours . . . violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his consitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed . . . endeavoured to obtain from the Internal Revenue Service, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, confidential information contained in income tax returns for purposed not authorized by law, and to cause, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigations to be intitiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner . . .

The differences between Nixon and Obama? Nixon was a member of a party that values integrity, while Obama is a far more corrupt member of a party that celebrates dishonesty and abuse of power. Obama's people will stand behind him if we bother impeaching the criminal. No point in trying to remove him when the Senate loves his crimes.

Nixon was not impeached.

YES HE WAS. He resigned before the Senate imposed the penalty on him. Nixon knew he was finished when the house of Representatives voted for impeachment and sent the bill to the senate for a trial to be held.

"YES HE WAS. He resigned before the Senate imposed the penalty on him. Nixon knew he was finished when the house of Representatives voted for impeachment and sent the bill to the senate for a trial to be held.""

Got a citation? It was widely reported that he resigned rather than face an impeachment vote in the House that he would certainly lose.

You are incorrect. The House did not vote. Nixon resigned before a vote because advisers convinced him the vote would be in favor of impeachment. But the vote never took place.

No, not so. Nixon resigned BEFORE the House voted. The House and Senate minority leaders (Republicans) went to him on the night of August 7, 1974 and told him when the House voted for/against Impeachment they would not be able to get the votes to stop it. The Senate Republicans told him they only had 15 votes against conviction. Nixon agreed to resign that night.

The impeachment vote NEVER happened, as he resigned BEFORE it.

Google it, you will see.

Nixon was never impeached for anything. When it appeared likely that a House committee would vote to recommend that that the full House take up impeachment proceedings against Nixon; it was then that Nixon decided to resign. There was never any vote for impeachment for anything. There were never any articles of impeachment that were voted on by the House. Personally, I think Nixon should have stuck it out and fought the trumped up charges and witch-hunt of the leftist, self-righteous DemonRATs.

No, Nixon was not impeached. The only vote for impeachment was made by the House Judiciary Committee (approved 21-17). Nixon resigned from office before the full House of Representatives voted.
