There are now reportedly a total of 18 House Republicans ready to throw in the towel in the current battle over Obamacare in order to end the first government shutdown in 17 years. As TheBlaze reported on Tuesday, Democrats needs just 17 GOP lawmakers to defect from the majority of Republicans in the House to pass a clean continuing resolution that fully funds both Obamacare and the federal government.

Glossing over a lot...
In your scenario the GOPe can ‘win’ with a delay of ANY sort in the Obamacare rollout, sequester level funding, and a reasonable debt limit deal.
It’ll take more than that for a ‘win’ for conservatives, of course.
But the GOPe are in great shape. That’s all very doable, heck many Dems would like that.
Giving Dems their way every way all the time is their idea of legislating?
Throw the bums out.
vaudine
Good point.
“I don’t know what you think we should wait for. But if it’s another election you are hoping will change course and rid of us Obamacare, well then, Sir, you are delusional.”
I’m not at all delusional. Obama care is going to be what we have to go forward with. To think the Dems will just give up on the centerpiece of Obamas 2 terms is delusional.
“But we have already adjusted how we are raising them to succeed in this new America.”
This is the wisest thing I’ve seen posted today.
Yes America has changed, and no it’s not going to change back.
There’s no putting the smoke back in the bottle.
I have no idea where it goes from here. I do think the more conservatives we have in congress the more we can at least influence the cahnges.
I’ve not given up, just trying to get a real handle on what can be done.
“In your scenario the GOPe can win with a delay of ANY sort in the Obamacare rollout, sequester level funding, and a reasonable debt limit deal.”
I was only addressing the shutdown and Obamacare.
And you misunderstood me. I think the GOP blew it the minute the shutdown started. They’re bucking a tiger.
Your negative waves are well, asinine.
“Your negative waves are well, asinine.”
It’s just my opinion. But we haven’t done so well the last few years.
Boehner has to do nothing and he keeps his Speakership. Self preservation will rule the day. There will be no deals.
I was addressing your remarks:
“...Its too late to change course now, so thhe best the GOP can do is to really not cave. Theynot going to do that because the political fallout will be catastrophic.
Ted Cruz pushed the GOPe into a fight that they cant possibly win.”
Anyway, we’ll see. So far so good.
Hairy Reed wouldn’t recognize clean if it irrigated his colon.
“Boehner has to do nothing and he keeps his Speakership. Self preservation will rule the day. There will be no deals.”
Self preservation will rule the day. That’s exactly why they’ll cave. When they start to really take heat, especially the Reps in non safe districts, they’ll turn.
They’re already turning.
I do not think this is accurate and think it’s a lame stream media ploy.
The word is they asked some of these guys, if all else failed, would you vote or a “clean” bill? Most said yes but with conditions...this leaves the conditions out.
I called my guy, Forbes’ office and was told point blank, he will hold firm and not compromise.....
Wolf is that guy...
Riggell will eat it big time if he caves; he’s from Va Beach....
Wittman will eat it Big Time if he caves; his area is way Conservative.
Forbes is my guy and when I called, his aide said no way will he cave....
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants... bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society. Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors. [but hes not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.
“Waaaah, waaaaah” snarkybob cries...those mean old Repukes can’t be winning, waaaaaah.
You’re a tool. A sleeper troll. Post back to me in a week. The GOP still won’t have caved.
Idiotic.

I’ve been here a long time so don’t call me a troll.
Yeah I’ll admit it if I’m wrong.
How about you. If they cave are you going to admit that you were wrong?
And it doesn’t matter if it’s a week. Let’s see how it ends. But if Obamacare gets funded are you going to admit you were wrong?
Yes, the Dems will cave on something. Might be the Keystone Pipeline. Might be 0bamacare. Might be something else...but the Dems *will* cave on something significant, not just give lip service.
And then in Mid October we get the debt ceiling battle. Dems will cave on that, or better, they won't, in which case the government has to live within its $3 Trillion in tax revenues without any borrowing.
After November 15 we get the *NEXT* budget fight, in which once again the Dems will cave on something significant.
Eventually, the Dems lose on everything.
I hope that doesn't make you cry...too much.
“Eventually, the Dems lose on everything.
I hope that doesn’t make you cry...too much.”
You sound like a Dallas Cowboy fan.
We’re getting our asses kicked but we’re ahead in the first half. Then when we finish the season at 8&8 we tell everybody why we should have won the Superbowl.
Sorry, but history is on my side.
Just be sure to post your apologies here next week when the shutdown is still going on.
...and no left-wing weasel words from you that we got the Keystone Pipeline but not 0bamacare defunded, vice-versa, or anything else when the Dems make their major concession later.
