Day 2 of the government shutdown, and look out the window. The sun is still shining, and the sky is still blue. The birds are chirping.
The Great Government Shutdown is not that big a deal, even for the government. The federal civilian workforce includes 2.9 million bureaucrats. Out of that, only 800,000 are being furloughed, or just 27%. Even for these workers, the shutdown just amounts to a paid vacation for a few days.
Just like the overballyhood sequester, average Americans wont notice any change in their lives at all. But for those you who are offended and indignant by the shutdown, or who know somebody who is, I can tell you how to fix it.
The Real Reason for the Shutdown The government is shut down for only one reason. Barack Obama and the Democrats wanted a shutdown. That is because Obama and the Democrats are so certain that the public will blame the Republicans. And they are certain of that because your dopey neighbors keep telling pollsters that the Republicans are at fault.

Sick of the lie of paid vacation.
Shutdown? What shutdown? When it was announced that 90,000 employees of the Federal Department of Education were being furloughed, it became apparent that this shutdown business had real possibilities.
NEWS!!!!
The Sun came up this morning!
Film at 10 am
If they’re furloughing 800 thousand “non-essential” personnel, can’t they just get rid of them, if they’re “non-essential”? Save a gazillion bucks!
Vacation with deferred payment?
Nope. Out of work with no payment.
Not every gov worker sits behind a desk with a cushy salary. And with furlough it is specific that there is no pay during this time.
Non essential doesn’t mean not needed.
When work resumes, there will be pay for the days missed. Obama sent out a letter that says as much and that is how it has worked in the past.
It isn’t quite a furlough because people on furlough use up their vacation days to cover the lost time and then are SOL. There is no pay for days lost after that. Only a gratefulness to still have the job.
Thank you for your sacrifice! With you standing firm for the shutdown, even though you’re not being paid, there is nothing we cannot accomplish!!
You’re wrong. There will be back pay. Congress passed a law, and unless the Senate crushed it, Obastard signed it. There may be a pinch in their cash flow for a few weeks, but when the spigot reopens, big big back pay for them.
I appreciate that. I am sacrificing and so is my family but rhis nightmare called Obamacare needs to end. Wanna know something funny? The feds are hiring MORE people to make federal workers part time so that... wait for it... they don’t have to pay for benefits.
No lie.
Not for hourly workers.
Source?
No. It was specific. Even if you had scheduled leave or vacation time it iss now officially cancelled.
Meaning you won’t get paid for scheduled vacation even. They have also sshut down payroll.
.
In the 17 previous shut-downs, furloughed federal workers have always been paid for the days they weren’t working. Look it up.
Yes, I know they will be paid. ??? That’s what I said.
