NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Police have arrested one of the bikers involved in the initial incident that lead to the vicious attack of a man driving his family in Manhattan, the NYPD said. Meantime, some people are saying the driver is not the victim because one of the bikers he ran over is in a coma.
Video posted to YouTube from the helmet camera worn by a motorcyclist shows a pack of bikers attacking the driver of an SUV following a fender bender on the West Side Highway on Sunday afternoon.
Christopher Cruz, 28, was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a child and menacing. He was not injured in the accident.
The driver of the black Range Rover -- Alexian Lien, 33 -- was with his wife and young child inside when he struck a motorcycle that was in front of his car, police said. In the video, Lien is seen stopping the SUV and then speeding away and striking three motorcycles when the group began to damage his SUV.

If your dealing with reasonable people you should stop and provide your required information or call the police and report the accident.We have NO idea if he did that.
But If you sense any kind of threat to your safety or the safety of a third party get the hell out of there.I don’t care if there are motorcycles blocking your path.They were probably blocking the guys path for a reason.
The Motor vehicle laws don’t say you have to place your life at risk waiting for the police to assist you.

The punks went looking for trouble and they found it. He should have pavement punched a few more of them.
This guy was out minding his own business with his family when these punks saw a chance to screw with some guy.

From a news report I read it was the biker who instigated the incident by deliberately jamming on his brakes after maneuvering his bike directly in front of the moving SUV. In fact there was a video of that incident on the internet last night. But more than that there is a racist element to this attack by the bikers that is not being addressed by reporting. One report stated there were as many as 60 bikers involved. One local comment stated it is a regular occurrence in New York City to see these biker gangs terrorizing drivers with illegal maneuvers, yet complaints to the authorities bring no relief.

I haul my horses in a fairly large 4 horse trailer with a 1 ton Chevy Dually truck. I have probably run up over 100,000 +++++ miles in the past 25 years doing so.

I get cut off constantly by little plastic cars not made in America. I don’t exceed 55 miles an hour with the weight I am hauling & the fact that I have a LIVE LOAD. It is entirely different when hauling a boat or a trailer with ATV’s or such.
One real difficult problem is having the right of way on a major road & having a car decide to merge in front of me from an on-ramp and they are NOT going the speed of the highway traffic. You can watch them & SEE that they are NOT even looking at what is coming up on them to affect their merge possibilities.
It can be a nightmare.

The driver of the SUV gets a pass. The bikers were up to no good before the accident. They are responsible for the accident in the first place. It is fair to say that when you are surrounded by hoodlums it is time to beat feet out of there.
He ran over the bike AFTER he had been stopped and surrounded, and one biker tried opening his door (lesson - KEEP YOUR DOORS LOCKED AT ALL TIMES!) and succeeded. When the biker opened the door, the driver took off, running over a bike.
I used to ride a bike, and what they (the gang of bikers) were doing was trying to intimidate and threaten other drivers on the road. It's a real shame he didn't have a NYC CCW permit and shot a couple of the bikers.

An incident like this may have easily ended differently here in Southeast MO, where many travelers carry weapons.
Following too close? The whole mob of bikers overtook him and intentionally boxed him in, then stopped him.

Good post, I agree with you 100%. The bikers were simply a bunch of feral animals looking out for trouble. I NEVER feel sorry for home invaders or robbers who are greeted by hot lead. And I certainly don’t feel sorry for these animals who were out looking for trouble. They found the trouble they were looking for but I’m sure they didn’t expect to be getting the worse end of the deal. Maybe next time they’ll refrain from aggressively attacking a man just trying to get from point A to point B with his wife and infant child.
