They are just a bunch of Old White Guys. Probably a bunch of gun owners amongst them. What makes them think that they have any standing against the needs of the almighty state, which must be fed?

The scene was both emotional and comical at once. After it was clear they had lost control of the situation, Park Police officials stood aside, telling press that they had “asked for guidance on how to respond” to the breach of security.
As 80-something veterans slowly walked around the massive war memorial, Park Police stood quietly to the side, advising other tourists that the site was technically still closed. But they made no moves to stop the wishes of the war heroes.

Because once upon a time, these same men - my father and uncles amongst them - flew across two oceans and forcibly DISMANTLED TWO “ALMIGHTY STATES” and destroyed the progenitors of them...
And here they are, witnessing the SAME ideology taking over their country in their twilight years...
If we let this fall, they should spit on us.
