So, the WWII memorial is open today... Park police letting everyone by right now. #shutdown

As noted in the last post, Congressman Steve King "distracted" the Capitol Park Police while the veterans, per their training, rushed over the barriers.
Here's a brief Vine video of the veterans reclaiming their Memorial from Obama's Shutdown Theater Prop Workshop.

I do believe this time around it will blow up in their faces, despite all that the MSM and their in-house spinmeisters can do.
Yep...I believe that too!

In 1943 these brave soldiers fought foreign enemies to keep America free. In 2013 they are now fighting domestic enemies just to visit a symbol of freedom. We owe them so much. This is just one more item to their credit.

This dramatic act of defiance is worth a thousand spinmeisters and talking heads.
People see something like this, and they understand.

We stood shoulder-to-shoulder with "biker veterans" (most probably from the Vietnam era) on March 17, 2007 in DC,..remember it well.......

I just checked the
Honor Flight Tour Schedule and they are scheduled to be there everyday. [Probably old news, but I have been caring for in-laws & MIL has Alzhiemer's. I am behind the curve on so much these days!]
The barricades might be higher tomorrow.

Think the mall cops will taze a couple of ww ii vets to try to make them respect their authoritah? There is literally no way they can look good in this situation.

Obviously, I've been out of the Mt. St. Helen's loop! I thought it had been dormant for decades.
Suddenly, I recognize the need for the government to fund a Mt. St. Helen's webcam. Damned Republicans!
A lack of government funding closes a path through the woods. That's just ridiculous.

DOW is up 60+. This doesn’t support the MSM’s agenda so they conveniently ignore it just like they do with anything else that doesn’t fit their liberal narrative.

I call it the
Padlock the Statue of Liberty Strategy Nobody gives a damn when The Department of Silly Walks shuts down, so the administration has to shut down public memorials, which are basically free to run, otherwise nobody would care when the government shuts down.
I can hardly wait to see the President start badmouthing these WWII veterans, calling them "Hostage Takers" and "Terrorists"...

I would imagine that they shut these sites down simply because they cannot open associated public restrooms that would need to be maintained.

Exactly! & I read somewhere one the park officers is a vet, I’m sure more than a few are. Unless one parky goes rogue & tries to mess with these heroes, they should just let them enjoy THEIR memorial.

“I just hope some hothead in the Parks Department doesnt try to enforce their idiotic closure.”
Don’t rule it out. Parkies already think themselves defenders of the pristine from the unwashed rabble & they are capable of fascistic behavior.
Even worse they may send in rentacops with third world attitude & little regard for American vets. Saw this at Arlington.
